Same here, once i realized it was blog and it was lacking citations if went blank. Probably saved 24 minutes for me through

My cliff notes version from skimming it, then trying again to really read it and failing (from a Facebook link earlier):

Where WHO/CDC sees the worst case scenario, the author sees the best case scenario, and says we are over reacting and hurting our economy unnecessarily.

In some ways i wish we can just draw straws to see who lives and dies, get it over with. At least i would know if should dumpn 250 on Idaho's sheep draw. Pretty sad when i have better chance of catching a deadly disease then drawing a sheep tag....

Some non hyperbole containing some hyperbolic language, from a (probably not) king of hyperbole - a chief surgeon at a NYC hospital.
What's it gonna' take.
Sleep well boys and girls....

Here's the letter in case the font is a problem in the article:

That was true before corona and will be true after. But yes it is sad indeed

NBC Montana just had more sobering news for us "isolated less at risk Montanans".
Kalispell healthcare workers under quarantine. MT nurses Assoc Head urging the Guv to go to "lockdown" type scenario. Should be a link available any moment from the network....
I never did hear back from the Guv about the email I sent a couple days ago, suggesting the same.....
I'm sure he's been busy - as MT cases grow as they did today, probably gonna' get busier.
Friend works at a welding shop in Belgrade. The shop is busy as hell, and the guys don't have time for this bullshit. Anecdotal - I know..................

I ate lunch at Qdoba in Vail on March 6th and now Oak won't come up and hang out with me. WTH?

Currently I've been eyeballing the Vail Resorts EPIC pass and wondering if it's not cause of all the grief here. Everyone in the world can come ski here for $1000 season pass. Worries me for the future.

Pretty glad I didn't attend the Burton Open the last weekend of February in Vail and I definitely thought about going.

I saw a news clip this afternoon where a hospital was using UV light to sterilize masks to be reused. I think UV lights came up earlier in this thread.

It’s too bad they took it down. Hiding things from people in the age of the Internet just gives them more power. I read the whole thing when it first came out and my impression was it was just piles and piles of cherry picked stats.

This guy did an excellent job rebutting the most of that piece. I have no doubt more could be destroyed in a similar fashion

I believe the most interesting and meaningful way to look at competing theories moving forward is to see whose beliefs could pay rent. People need to make predictions, so we can look back and see how far off or on they were.

That will be the biggest indicator as to who knows what the heck they are talking about.

Oh how I wish our POTUS would stop the campaign rally press conferences and deliver a cogent and consistent message of truth to the country. Enough of overselling and under delivering.

Well, our first morning of the shelter in place order is here and the roads were just about empty. In my 50 mile trip to work through 7 different towns I saw maybe 15 vehicles. Of course, I have to be here for some reason. The paycheck is nice but things are getting weird and it's making me a little nervous. Stay safe, people!

On point, the feds can be a powerful force when it gets going. But by its very nature, things don’t happen fast. Everyone waits for someone else to make a decision.

Some one I care very much about works in a federal microbiology lab - non human health.
They have virology/genetics/bac-t, etc. etc capabilities and equipment.
They were requested to round up masks and get them in the chain. But that's it.
They have autoclaves - one machine which might be useful. They have expertise. Which may be useful.
The administration this federal agency works for hasn't seen a way to get "all hands on deck".
You ignorant son of bitches on here that can't make the connection between politics and this deal are truly pitiful. And I use the word pity here, because there is soon to be enough of that going around.
How many immuno-compromised folks are posting on here?
Maybe I'll just keep this up until Randy kicks me off, or I tire of watching well meaning folks get their asses kicked - literally and figuratively - by a minute organism that thrives and multilpies on ignorant human behavior.......

Wonder how access to Montana block mgmt - even more, private land - is gonna' be in a couple months?
Enough damn it. Your name calling is ridiculous. Especially when it is because people aren’t falling in line with your half-formed largely clueless rants. Please, just let others have this tiny little sliver of the internet to post links and non-political thoughts/concerns. Go make your own rant post if you must, just leave this one alone.

Which ever happens first is fine.

Please read the OP. This is a thread for facts, links, and meaningful discussion void of politics. Even well-meaning threads, once political, devolve, and so we’re largely staying away from that.

Basically, this is a clearinghouse for information. Let’s keep it going.

You are correct , about the SOB comment, VG.
Nameless, I provided factual information about the lab & it's unused capabilities.
And about the organism's MO......................

You nailed it 3855win, every one waits for somebody else to make a decision.

BTW, I talk on here like I do when with good friends in the raft on the Yellowstone - or in the wall tent under coleman lantern light after along day's hike in the Crazies. We know we got each other's backs, and enjoy the hell out of life.

But whatever.

I agree they should have left it up. That is an example of the media censoring a dissenting opinion. People can argue his numbers and interpretations but there were links to his data and his numbers were updated daily to see how this disease is progressing. The author was putting some perspective (right or wrong) to these raw numbers that everyone is seeing every day (that are published every day with no real perspective). We get shown the deaths and numbers of confirmed cases in various countries. The author's opinion (one of) was that the per capita numbers were more important than raw data and I tend to agree. There was much more to the article and I'm sure someone will dig it up in the future and we can read it if we so choose.

Curious if anyone has any information to help decipher some of the data seen here? Right now we are at 1.3% death rate. We all can agree that the number of cases is underestimated, possibly vastly underestimated. So the death rate is lower.

Will the number of deaths increase dramatically with time? How long does it take for someone to die from this?

If you compare our numbers to Italy, we have half the number of cases, but only 7% as many deaths. I sure would like to look optimistically at these number.2B44ECEB-CE34-4056-AE8C-295039342719.png
