Corona virus

All the nasty, killer shit Microbiologists know about, deal with and create, do you really think corona viruses like this one are very high on that list?

Yup, it is. Air transmissible, long latency viruses with potential high fatality rates and resistance to acquired immunity are exactly what they fear most. Ebola and the like are great in the movies and TV shows, but actually not going to wipeout humanity.

The political figer pointing always kills great threads like this one. mtmuley

Yep. I looked into starting a new thread with politics outlawed, with the idea being every political post gets nuked. Doesn't look like the thread starter has the ability to delete comments though.

1,000 posts in, and the only thing I'm certain of is that people love their Charmin and would rather starve than eat Lima beans.

Was at Whole Foods yesterday and it was a madhouse because all local schools in our country just shut down for two weeks. I was disappointed to not see the vegan shit left all alone on the shelf, there was still plenty of food next to it....maybe I need to check back in today.

The bulk isle was pretty cleaned out though, except for wild rice which was odd.

As a nation we are "charmin soft". Seriously though, fond memories of lima beans in succotash and Campbells vegetable soup. Folks in WY could make some damn good pronghorn chili with those.

It was pretty much a usual Saturday morning at the grocery store here.
We just bought our usual stuff. My wife said it may have been a little busier than normal but there is stiff on the shelves.
Maybe it helps that it is Trader Joe’s. It’s not exactly the Walmart demographic.

Really? Is Trump going to follow any of Obama’s good actions. Not likely.

You should spend your time thinking about the failures of the current administration. Trump’s actions will result in thousands of more deaths because the US ignored containment.
Strongly disagree...

No. Antibiotic resistant bugs will though. And they ain't sexy, don't have podcasts, etc.

They don't cure Ebola.

They lock it down. Once the host is dead, so is the virus.

Every second a virus is out of a host it loses strength. The 9 day crap the media ran with, like a lot else was to scare folks.

At 9 days it will be "alive", but not potent.

The studies are showing also, like other viruses, it doesn't like heat.

It's new. But it's 2 cousins are wayyyy deadlier.

I don’t understand why we’re talking about Obama during the Covid crisis. I never voted for the man but his past actions are irrelevant to what is happening now.
I dont understand why you bought all the damn TP in Idaho! 🤣😂

BS. China gave us a month the US ignored. We should have been testing people arriving on international flights. He’ll, we should have been testing instead of ignoring the issue.

History is going to show the actions of Singapore was the direction the country should have taken. I realize hindsight is 20/20, but taking Italy’s path is going to be fatal.

I really don't think you have all the facts and information our country leaders had to make such decisions. Again I'll ask in this post, Think you could do better?
