I'll be buying the deer PP, but is it also worth buying the elk? Also how many PP would it take to hunt a decent unit for elk over there?

Yes you can use your CC for the whole amount and get a refund in June.

PP are species specific not weapon/season specific.

How many points for a decent elk unit? Depends on what you think 'decent' is... 3+PP would be a good start, but the best units in the state are basically once in a lifetime. I think this year the premium units will be in the 12-14 point range.

I notice that the CO on line form you have choices for hunter ed certification of firearm, archery only or other?

So for others with combo hunter ed certifications (combo being firearm/archery) what are you selecting on the form?

a phone call to DOW said that CO firearm is = to other states Combo.
