Hi guys, I had a pretty good weekend. Finally saw the sun late yesterday afternoon. I was rained and hailed upon, pretty near froze but still had a good weekend. I mentioned the get together/mini tournament my brother was having Saturday, well I pulled off the win and won $420.00. Fishing was poor, but they were playing biggest fish. I caught a 13.5" within the first 30 minutes, and not much else any size after that. There are lots of bigger fish than that in the lake, but none of the 23 participants fared any better. So maybe the sun ( where ever it was) was shining on me. On Sunday I took my wife out for a fish and we caught our limit. First two photos are of the tournament, then the last is of wife and our string of fish. Weather is supposed to be really nice this week so it will be hard to stay at work when I could be away fishing. Have a nice week guys, talk to you later. DS

Those are some great pics. I love the one of the deer checking out the camera.
Now was that you doing walking across in front of the camera or was it someone else?

Love the photos, there is one with a lotta turkeys in it and that last one with the tom is great. I'm starting to get turkey fever.

That was me useing the last of the pics bruce. And if I put a ground blind up it will be to the farthest left hardwood tree you see there and 20 yards down the hill dave. Was at basspro tonight and the prices start at $79 and up for a blind. I'm curious if I set one up how the critters there will react. I think they will walk by it with caution for awhile, But hoping that they would get use to it as they have with my cam and I think they are getting use to me as well. Time for me to hit the sack,later.

Welcome to my world here bruce, it hit the 80s out side and I'm not to fone of heat. I like the cold better than heat any day. Well I need to put two more days in til the weekend hits.

This weekend I have to sit in a class on Saturday all day. Hunter education Trainer training. Yup gonna do it and become a trainer.

Well I went out friday night to the daughter place so I could get up and out for a morning hunt. I was taking a leak that night and I thought I herd a tom gobble on the hill but I was not sure. With the traffic going by I could not pin point it and three deer came out into the field so I went inside. Same as last week I got up at 4:30am and got ready. Set up my decoy and then took a seat in the blind. I hear the crows making noise but no gobble yet. I hit the call box around 5:15am nothing and I wait. So for the hell of it I threw a mouth call in and try that around 5:40am. Then a few minute later there was a gobble on the hill and that got me excited.After clucking back and forth I new by the sound he was in that big field dave. So I pick up and head that way and as I got to the edge he gobble again. The sound made it seem he was in the middle to far end of that field but I caught him move just to my left on the edge of the field. I sat there and he went out of site and I heard a cluck and turn to see a jake come into the field and he seen me. I figure I was busted but didn't move and you swear I was making out with the tree I had hugs standing there looking and waiting. After he went out of site I herd wings fluffing and I new he was trying to take on the tom so I back off alittle and hit the mouth call and the tom gobble again so we did this back and forth when the jake pop out of no where and stood there. I figure I wait for him to walk behind this tree and as he was about to get behind I start to move when the big boy pop into site and was making sure the jake was heading away from his area. I wait then he went behind a tree I raised the gun and he came out and hump I squeeze the trigger and the jake was on the move and acouple more toms that I didn't see took off as well. Except the one that I shot I'm heading out and later tonight or tomorrow I will get a couple pics post up in here. Had to fight with the camera turning it on/off to get a picture then the battery die out. It is charging right now, Later guys and dave this boy is NICEEEEEEE. But the other to toms was BIG/BIGGER then him. I'm waiting til fall so you can touch down of your first turkey. By the way I figure out why the turkey come over in the fall and roost there. Cause the farmers that are puting in crops are moving them and they have a safe place there cause there is nothing to plant there. There not spooked so they stay there all summer/fall. I can not wait to post acouple pics so you can get excited alittle more. Or I could not post a pic and let you get pump for the fall. What do you think bruce suffer/post ? Later

Thata boy, wish I was there. Send a good photo so I can print it and put it at your camp. Got a few fish today, had a fish fry right in the boat and gave the rest to my mother ( weird mothers day gift, eh).
