Gave and got my first black eyes in grade school from a guy who is my best friend for life. Things were different then.Spending time with my 8 and 10 year old daughters this weekend reminded me how easy it is to push past the BS.
One minute they hate each other, the next they’re doing each others makeup.
I grew up in an area where fists to the face came before diplomacy. You didn’t keep track of who won or lost but if you stood up for yourself.
I try and catch myself before I get too far down the rabbit hole of defending a position on the internet.
Although I will always welcome a disagreement on my front stoop.
Scrabbles were pretty common.

No, you know as well as anyone. Politics are the ultimate expression tribalism. When your team is winning you can't help but rub it in others faces. Especially when the team motto is #*^@#* the other team, and it's being shouted from the highest pulpit by the loudest voice.
The only thing that would make it worse is if we could get a few actual liberals to join in. And I can assure you, from where I sit, there are no active members that actually represent the far left side on HT
I have two on my ignore list both for being AHs more than having differing opinions.
