Yes, as with most of us winter boredom has us doing things you say you'd like to do but never get around to it. I decided to camo my Remington 270. First time attempting this and it didn't turn out to bad. Then a buddy of mine asked if I'd do his grand daughters muzzle loader, that's the stock with the deer image. I will post more pics as for some reason the site only allows me to post one pic at a time.

That looks nice. I like the parts that you left black on your rifle. Last summer, I did a similar thing to my 4 Wheeler. Only I used animal shapes for the stencils and overlapped everything (Brown, dark Green and Tan). That buck on the butt stock looks a lot like the buck stencil I made.

Thanks for all the comments guys. As far as the process I used, I first cleaned the stocks good with alcohol. The first step is masking off (used blue painters masking tape)anything you want to remain the original stock color as I did with the areas you see in black. Next is to paint the entire stock your lightest color first, in my case it was the tan, then using the masking tape I laid it out on wax paper and cut out the shapes you choose with an x-acto knife, place the shapes on your stock then paint the entite stock in your next lightest color (that was green for me). Repeat the masking on the now green stock, paint again brown. After drying remove all tape carefully and you'll have a new camo'd gun stock. I then sprayed several coates of clear protective non-yellowing and as low gloss as you can find. The paint I used was Krylon camouflage non-reflective and the Krylon clear. I've used this a stuff a lot on tree stands and it has held up well, I also painted my entire trailer I haul out west (i'll try to post pics) and a luxury deer/coyote hunting blind (I'll try to post pics) built this past summer all with this same paint. You can also get a lot of ideas on You tube as I have seen. Good luck camo'ing your items!
Ok - anybody have any helpful tips uploading pictures? I have uploaded pics in the past but sometimes it takes several tries and when I can it will only allow 1 pic. ???
EODRay - I'd like to see pics of your 4wheeler camo job, sounds interesting, do you have any pics to post? My original idea was just that....animal stencils but opted for this pattern being the first attempt at doing a firearm. Also, what material did you use for your stencils?

I'm not sure if I took any pictures of it or not. I'll check on my computer. I used card stock paper (like manilla file folders). I went online and found silhouettes that I liked, printed them to the size I wanted, traced them and then cut them out with an exact-o knife. Cutting them out on thick paper was a real pain in the waste excreter. I painted the base color, like you did, and then just sprayed the items on individually overlapping each other here and there.
