Best backcountry bone saw

I am looking for recommendations on best pack friendly bone saw for elk. One month to go for WY!

If you watch a few YouTube videos you can learn how to remove quarters at the knee and how to remove the head at the base of the skull from the spine with just a knife. That being said, the outdoor edge gig saw is lightweight and works well.

I like multi use tools. For cutting wood a silky folding saw is unbeatable for the weight. Get a fine tooth or medium tooth and it will cut through bone as well

No need for bone saw on elk. Do it all with a fixed blade knife.

Its a little bulky but I like the old tried and true Wyoming saw. Have also used the saw in the outdoor edge line, handle to small and uncomfortable to use. The foldable silky saw is a good product.

Have tried several different saws. Silky with original wood blade works once on bone and is trashed. Tried one of the small bone saws from outdoor edge but didn't have the patience to deal with a short blade. Settled on a Wyoming style saw with a bone blade for hunting and a wood blade for camp. I separate at the leg joints with a knife but haven't figured out an easy way to get the ribs with a knife yet. Until I figure out how to get the ribs with a knife I'll keep lugging the saw around.

Wyoming saw. If weight is an issue gerber exchange a blade saw. However the new gerber blades are not as robust as the old ones.

You can practice unsheathing and building your WY saw blindfolded @ home, try to get under 60 seconds.

I have a Wyoming saw. But I don't pack it. It stays in the truck. I use it a lot.

Best combo, I personally don't use it on bone. This combo never leaves my pack. Used it last weekend, buddy was amazed how quick it cut.
