I'll side with neffe3 on this one. You don't even have statistics without calculus. A PDF comes from calculus, and it is effectively the basis on which statistics emerges.Also, I would argue that's just not true. People may not engage in solving problem using calculus, but it's used behind the scenes by almost everyone almost everyday.

Calc doesn't have to be used directly to be useful. Understanding the relationships between things through calculus is a way (the way) in which one develops an intuitive understanding of how things work and relate to other things. You don't have to be penciling away to put calculus to work.
As a sweeping generalization, there are people that know shit and people that understand shit. The latter generally appreciate calculus more than the former.
