Your dog’s quirk?

My soon to be 4yo bloodhound Murphy, bred and refined for hundreds of years to be some of the best tracking & hunting breeds the world has ever seen.

Couldn’t care less about it, instead he’s convinced himself he’s a cow dog! (He’s not half bad at it either)

Grizzly shit. Particularly in August when the bears are on salmon and berries. Damn dog, on a daily basis almost, would head out from the lodge to the nearest pile and roll in it. Then she would head for the guests to share what she had found.
Her registered name is Molly Damnit

Good thread. Dex has many quirks in life. Most relate to sounds, both logical and illogical.

Gun shy, logical
Afraid of pan frying, logical (got bit by bacon young I think)
Fireworks, logical

Twitter tweet sound, illogical
IPhone screenshot sound, illogical
Basically any phone notification, illogical

Can't help but to love them through their quirks

Well this is new.

My Mom watches the dogs while I'm at work. At 80 years old my dogs exploit every opportunity she inadvertently affords them.

The other day while she was taking one dog out Rip discovered she'd left the top off of the animal crackers and he cleaned the bowl. Now he sits in the chair whenever it's not occupied, fully prepared to take advantage of his next opportunity.😂

You had better give him what he wants. He's got a gun.

That's a beautiful pup

Mine carries his marrow bones around the way my dad used to carry a cigarette - hanging out the side of his mouth.

My daughter used to own a quirky Bernese. Every time we drove up to Raleigh to visit, the moment my wife came in the door Puck would go to her side and when she sat down he would come around and sit on her feet, anchoring her there. If she got up he was at her side where ever she went.

All Berners do that. Mine included.

Mine would be miserable in Raleigh, though. I used to live there. He doesn’t even like it here in the summer at 80’s with no humidity.

My last Chessie had two...falling asleep in the duck blind when nothing was flying (I think he got that from my hunting partner) and racing down the river bank to roll in salmon carcasses whenever the opportunity presented. Then would look at me like WTF? when he had to ride home in his crate in the back of the truck.

This is Echo....AKA "Bubba Wallace"
His quirk is he has none. He doesn't really care about anything. Food, FedEx driver knocking on the door he's laying against, he likes to hunt, but is not a hunter. Any animals in the yard, he'll just sit on the porch and watch.....I could continue.

He looks like he should be at one of those old timey green felt card tables playing poker with his pack....
