7mm-08

A friend’s experience has been a little bit lackluster, but I see no reason that it should not slightly outperform, or at least equal, a 308 Win with 140gr-168gr bullets in terms of terminal performance. I suspect the friend’s poor result are closely linked to bullet choice, but I can’t say for sure.

That said it has pretty much been supplanted by the 6.5CM.

I’d guess your probably right on bullet selection or shot placement is usually the culprit, also Ron Spomer agrees the 7MM-08 outperforms 308 & can easily do anything/ everything a 270 or 308 can do at regular hunting distances

Love mine. I shoot eastern whitetails with 140 nosler BTs. Seems to kill them pretty close to where they are standing when you shoot em. This is a plus for an old guy who would rather be back at camp having happy hour than out stumbling around in the dark blood trailing deer.
I guess I been using it for about 8 years. Pretty much condemned all my other deer rifles to the safe. Poor things.
