Sighting in a 7mm-08 for the first time

Only competition I cared about was filling the freezer. I've done pretty good over the years. First one in 1976. This pile of harvest pins is only part of what I had. Each one represents a different deer. We used them for ornaments on the Christmas tree.

How do you get one of those? Lol I wouldn't mind one. Good job though on around 60 deer if my math is correct

That’s pretty cool. That would be a nice picture frame collection.

Kill a deer in Illinois. Close, there's 70 in that pile. Had to count them so we knew how many were left on the tree taking it down. I don't know how many others I had that got lost. They didn't have harvest pins when I got started so that adds more to my tally. We ate fairly well.

I've thought about it. I found a wooden cutout of Illinois that held them but I had way too many to fit! I'm not sure if I'll put up a tree this year or not. It's not going to be the same with Lori gone. If I frame them I know my daughter would want it for herself once I croak. She has a few of her own! Wouldn't have to move it far, I'm leaving her the house. My guns. My mounts.
