    Tikka T3

When my brother was working at a gunsmithing shop (factory repair center for Beretta and other major brands here in CA) the Beretta rep came in and offered the staff the opportunity to buy any Beretta firearm at his cost. Being short on money, my brother ordered a couple T3 Lites in .243 for me...

    Back from the dead...

This first model Colt Trooper belonged to my late Uncle Bill. It was stolen from my house many years ago, and -almost unbelievably - a few years ago the polcie departmetn from my former town called and told me that tehy had recovered it. On cloud nine, I drove up the next day to retrieve it...

    New 17 HMR

Hey, Dan - I have the 452 Varmint in .17 HMR and it's a nice rifle. It feels substantial and is pretty accurate. It is the second one I've owned, as the first one shot great (even better than the one I have now) but had headspace issues. I sent it back to CZ and they sent me a new one...

    257 Weatherby

With the slower twist, I'd probably stick with the 100 gr Partition as it is shorter than the all-copper or gilding metal bullets and should still stand up to the velocity.

    a couple weeks ago

I have a couple MacMIllan Edge stocks that were solid-color but with the black webbing painted on. (Or was it the fact that they were painted that you don't like as opposed to the solid color?) So far as I know, H-S Precision only come in solid colors, too, but the color is the material...

    Smokers/Non Smokers, dumb laws

Buzz - have you ever thought of suggestuing to your insurance carrier that they should start a non-smoker group rate? Certainly life insurance companies routinely ask about tobacco use and charge more if the answer is yes. I don't know why medical insurance companies couldn't do the same...

    Smokers/Non Smokers, dumb laws

And former smokers should be charged more than those who never smoked.... Buzz and Matt have really gone off the deep end. From talking about not letting the government make all your decisions for you to candy-flavored cigarettes. Next, they'll be advocating letting 5-year olds drive, buy...

    Smokers/Non Smokers, dumb laws

As others have said above - where does it stop? I fully agree with reasonable restrictions on smoking so as to not interfere with us non-smokers - no smoking in restaurants, etc. Prohibiting smoking in your own car or home is beyond reasonable, however. Do we charge more for insurance...

    Wolf poaching in Washington

By Craig Welch Members of a Methow Valley ranching family have been charged in the killing of several endangered gray wolves and the attempt to illegally mail at least one of the pelts to Canada in a bloody box. A federal grand jury Tuesday handed up a 12-count indictment that accuses...

    NM RMEF Elk Hunt

I used to hunt some National Forest accessed via state land right there until the RMEF did a land swap with the state of NM and land-locked that part of the forest. Open gates got locked. Public land now their own little preserve.... Nice to have their money. But I'm not bitter.

    Rossi 22 Magnum Pump

My son has claimed mine in .22 LR. He even likes it more than his "tactical" 10/22 (Tapco stock. red dot sight, extended mag, etc.) The only drawback to them is the lack of ability to mount a scope on them, but for plinking, running rabbits, etc. they are a blast!

    30/30 question

Unless you get a pre-64 Win 94 or at least one made before about 1975, go with the Marlin, Has anyone checked out the new Mossberg - I think it the model is 464? I have 2 Mod 94s and they are handy. I just don;t like the new ones, especially the angle-eject version.
