Yellowstone Park Wolves

Pot, meet kettle! :)
Hunt Talk plurality... ;) :ROFLMAO:

The common HT vocal theme - relate to other current news drippings to embellish the post! Except mine of course.

BTW - Wonder how many steaming thoughts you (SA) typed then erased. You quoted my post within seconds as I quickly changed a word that was not intended.

It follows the same as Biden and Harris publicly hanging Law Enforcement Border Patrol on horseback then claiming an impartial investigation would commence.

... and you & I would never try to tit-for-tat! ;) ... except you of course.

Words from your local VA, TriCare, Medicare, SSI, military pension socialist party-goer.

Party pooper...

Ok, back to eco-extremists and how they hold America hostage.

How many? Thousands! BTW - word change made no difference.

OK, Elkmagnet; you got us. I'm out to trim apple trees and paint new door trim ... as I'm a retarded, no ... I mean retired socialist.

Wasn’t the previous quota two? So this still could’ve happened?
And I recall years when Johnsons and their hunters exceeded the quota by killing some more before the season could close.

This time of year a pup is about 3/4 the size of an adult, and have very nice, fluffy coats that make them look even larger.
I’m sure if they are standing with the pack it is easy to tell what is what, but in a hunting situation if you just see a wolf through the trees, I doubt you can tell.
The wolves I’ve been around don’t exactly stand around and wait for you to determine their age, pack, and pronouns

Exactly. Even if the quota was 1 this could have easily happened. It doesn’t close as soon as one is shot…that pending closure time is still considered open.

Yes I see these three wolves left the park two pups of the year 2/3 grown and one yearling female. Biologist say the this pack leaves the park only 5% of the year usually in late fall. I guess they picked the wrong time to leave and were not paying attention to the calendar ! I have a problem with those impacted the most have the least voice in this discussion. It’s easy to be upset about wolves being killed and crying natural balance from back east because that’s the slant the press and biologist put on it. Only on these types of forums can the guy losing livestock or the residents with outdoor traditions lost because of dwindling game population due to one thing …..an apex predator ! I would have no trouble if these wolves naturally migrated without reintroduction , excess food source supplied by ranches made this a problem for nature and the natural environment argument ! The lower 48 is not a natural environment anymore and the rise and decline of game populations does not adversely effect the wolf. Livestock becomes the target species and the wolf pack gets stronger.

Sad to say that animals disappear across their natural range because of conflict with man but in many cases it’s inevitable. The reintroduction of wolves was as foolhardy as it would be to reintroduce vast bison herds across the grain belt in the mid west. The wolf was exterminated in the lower 48 for a reason and you poor guys in the Rocky Mountain states have to deal with it because someone wants to see a wolf !

Because the quota went away, this will happen again. In the past, when some named woof or a less than socially acceptable specimen was taken, the hunt close to the park shut down. That was the pressure relief valve.

That's gone.

MT & ID have F'ed around. Now we're all about to find out.

I'm just glad ldaho and Montana are taking the focus off the original wolf hater state, Wyoming, Ben.😁

Enviros & tribes are suing on Wyoming's predator zone. Which is a nebulous legal quandry in and of itself given the DPS recovery zone being the whole state, and WY's compromise is now being impeded by MT's lack of a quota around the park.

So, we got that going for us as well.

That's the true comment... I believe our numbers far exceed the "minimum". This is political football at its finest. This will not be about biological science. Eco-extremists have proved that. This is now a faction war.

I do not agree with Idaho's political power play though the pendulum has swung in favor of fixing the f-ups of the other party. I agree with their intent to bring the numbers to a more reasonable # though not a fan of politics.

As for MT... I don't see their power play as that monstrous. It's about time this went to war and let the chips fall. Biden administration eco-extremists vs State management of a population well above the USFWS requirement.
