Wildfires

Hello, was wondering if anyone with more knowledge about wildfires could fill me in a little.
Do they occur every year? When do they usually clear up? I am supposed to be going on a moose hunt in central BC in 5 weeks and I am reading they have a lot of wildfires going on. spoke to the outfitter today and they said their "territory" has not been affected.... yet * not sure how much I should worry or consider cancelling the trip

Yes, they occur somewhere every year. Depends on a lot of factors though...weather being the biggest. They “clear up” either when crews get them out, or when it rains/snows, whichever comes first. Your outfitter is probably used to working with the reality of fires. I wouldn’t cancel unless he is concerned about it impacting your ability to hunt.
