What's on the smoker today?

Too bad for John. Any finished product pics? I want to do this. mtmuley

Not the prettiest plating but it was good. It was kind of sloppy. Next time, I will use less milk or more bread crumbs. I had to use gluten free bread crumbs, I’m not sure if that didn’t absorb the liquid the best. Also doing it on a wire rack with a drip pan underneath would be good to get the Smokey bark all the way around.

I do the same with my margaritas. Supposed to be
  1. 3 parts lime
  2. 2 parts tequila
  3. 1 part triplesec.
I swap 1 and 2. Too much citric acid is bad for the stomach. 😝
I do similar but 3-4-5, 3 parts Grand Marnier, 4 parts lime, 5 parts tekillya, cut the lime with a little simple syrup if it suits, lots of salt! Can't drink many though, potent and acidic.

I had a pork shoulder with “cowboy” rub on the smoker for 9 hours at 200 F, and then got called in to cover a shift for a coworker who got covid. Not to waste a great meal with my family, I put the shoulder in the crock pot, let it marinate in enchilada sauce, pinto beans, and Ro-Tel. Then let it cook the next day for 10 hours. Made an amazing soup in the end. Still would have loved sharing the smoked shoulder without an extra shift. But at least this way I got to see my family enjoy what I made them. The recipe is a version of Remi Warren’s elk enchilada soup.

Man those dogs look good. Love a good char on a good dog. Also we have a chit load of doves at the farm this year. Also looking forward to September 1. Our doves are gone at the first hint of cold so we usually only get a week to chase them.
Same here first cold rain and there gone. Although I've noticed some big groups around christmas the last couple years around corn stubble fields.
