We have a lightweight mixture of instant coffee, dried creamer, and chocolate mix which quickly stirs into a fine morning wake-up drink on the JetBoil as we are packing to hit the trail.
Down the trail a few miles we mix up Mountain House biscuits & gravy ... and often another cup of the java. We enjoy the simple trail routine.

Its more about the view where your drinking it than the method of brewing it.
I used a percolator over fire, french contraption. I now use a drip in the comfort of my cabin. Fill up my old Stanley for long morning or my Yeti tumbler for a short run. Tastes about the same to me.

As a noncoffee drinker, this thread makes me chuckle at how much anxiety and money is expended in the pursuit of coffee. The tyranny of coffee is real and all for cup of a very unappetizingly brown, bitter liquid full of tree waste and just plain bad things.

"Free yourself!" I say! "Free yourself from the Tyranny of Coffee and the Coffee Barons that hold your puppet strings and pocket money!" (and save 5# in you backpack and a toasty warm extra half hour of sleep this fall in your sleeping bag).

Okay, I'll find something more useful to do with my time....

Yep, first couple of sips the best.
I'm a one cup a day person. We strain it.
Anybody use a milk frother?
If you use a pillow to sleep, it's ok to have a frother.
