After dragging one out deep in Adirondacks cause shooter wanted pics back at cabin, it was easy nope. Over 8 hrs to get that SOB out. Prob dressed 350 or so.

Skinned, it really looked like the shooter!

Had a weird experience above alpine at 11,500’ in late October elk hunting; didn’t even know they existed in CO.

Acted like it wanted to kill me and then we had to stare down for 10 minutes. We went our separate ways - it was a weird experience.

I know a few late November corn fed green heads that beg to differ.
1/2” of fat some years. Good yellow fat, not white fat like a pintail. Plucked, soaked a day in salt water, rinse, dry, season, and roasted in the oven to a medium. Or throw it in the pellet grill.
