I love shooting my dad's old 7.65 Argentine Mauser that he handed down to me. I've never killed anything with it, but he's killed more deer than you can imagine with it.My grandfather used a WWII surplus Argentine Mauser in 7.65 Argentine in completely factory form from the time he got out of the Corps until he quit hunting in his 90's. He said he gave 20 bucks for it and it came with 250 rds of ammo. I saw that man make some incredible shots with that rifle, Open sights of course.
He gave it and a few others to me when he knew he would no longer be hunting.. I get it out of the safe and clean it now and then but I should really practice up with it and make a kill with it one of these years.
Get outta here! I know Butler. I grew up not far from 422 in OH and went to Allegheny College for a couple years. Sir, it was the way you listed off all those obscure calibers that made me think “I’ve met this kind of person”. True story, only place I’ve ever seen functional Krags is in PA. All those guns are terrific for shorter range work which is all of PA. But you didn’t have to list 16ga slugs and that’s why OH hunters buy up non-res every year.
