Initial test loads for the Peterson Brass

Leftis RL23 and Right is RL26. Load density is very high with RL23 so I going to talk to Steve about his suggested starting load. I struggled today because i hand chamfered the brass with a non-VLD chamfer and had to start over.

I've had some decent luck with my new 280 Ackley build thus far, but I'm putting it in park until I get it fully put together.

My focus now is to find a handload that matches the accuracy of Hornady Superformance 117 sst out of my 25-06.

I've got IMR 4831, IMR 4350, IMR 7828SSC, H4831, and H4350 to work with.

I have lots of projectiles. Just have to find something.

I was thinking of trying to work up a load using IMR 4831 with some 120gr partitions for 25-06. That is on the back burner as I plan on reloading some 7-08 reloading first.

That's a good combination. I have a good load with IMR 4831 and 115 partitions (older style with the sleeker profile) that I used this past deer season. I suspect I can get it better if I adjusted seating depth. I need to get a modified case for my OAL gauge, though.

Currently...
257 Roberts AI. Found a good load with 120gr Partition over RL19. Now working on 115gr Ballistic Tips and 115gr Berger VLD.

Newly aquired Browning A Bolt in 25 WSSM. After finding out the 115gr Ballistic Tip was seated too deep for my liking, working on 100gr Ballistic Tips and 90gr BlitzKings.

Tomorrow, i take the 250Savage barrel off my Stevens 200 and the 7mm-08 barrel off the new Savage Axis II and swap them.
Along with reaming the 7mm-08 to AI.

300 ultra mag, 180 partitions, 3325fps stout load of retumbo, 280 improved 160 partitions with imr 4831. P dog gun 22-250 improved, 90 gr vld with h4350

Any body know about Ramshot powders? Lgs had a pound each of Exterminator and Hunter in stock but they didn’t have a burn rate chart handy. Gonna load for the calibers in my previous post and I’m about to finish a 7-08 as well. I don’t have varget and can’t find it. I also have IMR 4064, 4350, 4831, 7828ssc.
H 4350, 4831, 1000. RE 26.
Think I’m going to try some 120 Hammer Hunters in 7-08, 90 Absolutes in the Bob ai, and whatever Hunter they have in the 85 gr. range in the 6rem ai.

I bought a jug of TAC at the beginning of the pandemic for my 223. Since I have not been able to find RL 15, I tried it out this week in my 308 behind 175 gr Sierra Matchkings. Based on the two groups I shot, and taking into account my uncanny ability to always throw the fourth or fifth shot after three good shots, results are promising.

Here is a link to the load guide.

Sorry, that probably sounded like an asshole. I’m loading mainly hammers and can’t find any info on their links and nothing from the powder co.’s. Just wondering if anyone has experience with those powders. If not I’ll start low and report back what I find.
Gotcha and no offense taken. You might call/email Hammer. I have emailed Steve several times and I have always had a response within a couple of days. When I asked about data for 199 HHs for my 30 Nosler, Steve recommended that I go to the Nosler load data and start with the starting load for a similar weight bullet. So, your start low and work up plan sounds like a good one.
