At 278 posts it is bound to wander. Frankly, I'm shocked we are still talking about america at this point. How did we go from a Teddy statue to the wealthiest Americans on this thread?

Ben made this statement.....Not sure how pointing out a widening wealth gap is “going after the wealthy”. Go ahead and continue your false narrative though.
Roosevelt's legacy when it comes to going after the oligarchs is certainly part of the discussion, I would imagine. I'd prefer that the people who would skin the United States have the same dislike for me that JP Morgan did for TR: https://ehistory.osu.edu/exhibitions/1912/content/RooseveltInAfrica
That'd be nicer than a statue.
Today's republicans would have nothing to do with TR and vice versa.
That said there are some weird people that shop at the whole food stores.
I haven’t made up my mind if I’d tear down statues with you. But I could probably agree with BL some things about American companies and politicians moving our jobs to China for profit.
Ben made this statement.....
"Capitalism can save us, but we need to take it back from the looters and grifters."
Of which you agreed with. Good luck getting it back from the "looters and grifters" like Buffett, Bezos, Gates, and the rest of the list I gave you. They own the media, the politicians, and are heavily armed with security. You guys are all bark and no bite and will willingly fall in line with what they tell you all the while whining about how the "wealth gap is widening".
I’ve been wishing for a return of the Bull Moose Party for a long time. They kicked him out of their party back in the day as well!
I had this pleasure the other day. These are my observations.Shopping at whole foods, then picking a couple things up at Walmart right after is a bizarre juxtaposition.
Which company? The company man hath spoken.
I was a wegmans guy when I was back east.I'm more of a Stop and Shop guy (Safeway or Smith's) my wife likes Whole foods... we compromise and go to Wegman's (Town and Country).
that said Heritage flakes are the bomb so we hit up Whole Paycheck more than I'd care to admit.
I just want to say that I really appreciate the way you’ve handled this pandemic by smashing chicken wings, tall beers and plates of sushi up at the casino.I had this pleasure the other day. These are my observations.
A bunch of people that look like ultra marathon runners, that wouldn’t even feel a Covid sniffle, all wearing masks, with terror in their eyes at me not having one although I’m 6+ feet away.
Then;
A bunch of people that have a smokers voice, need to lose 160 lbs, have a cart full of Fritos and Mountain Dew, that would drop dead if they were in the same county as a little Covid, packing in like sardines with no regard to social distance, without a mask in sight.
There are two Americas. I like either of them less and less everyday.

To be clear I'm not about tearing down statues. I'm open to the conversation about tearing down statues and listening to others who have strong opinions on the subject (both for and against).
I watched The Best of Enemies last night, great + timely movie. Not about statues, rather integration... it's a true story, and its a great example of people listening to each other.
We're in between draws & runoff isn't over yet.
Both are very valid points! However, my boat isn’t against finding a tailwater...
Slowly and painfully! How did we go from a Teddy statue to the wealthiest Americans on this thread?
