Tariffs and Potential Inflation

Asking to understand, are people okay with paying illegals to work which also avoids payroll taxes, reporting, OSHA, etc.
You're asking the question to the wrong people.

You need to ask those that are actually hiring them, you know, the ranchers, farmers, construction companies, big corporations. They're the ones cutting the fat hog in the ass by avoiding payroll taxes, reporting, OSHA, unemployment insurance, retirement, health insurance etc.

What I think doesn't matter because of a few reasons:

1. I'm not hiring them.
2. I'm not buying the politicians that are allowing big business to do it.
3. I can't get a law passed to punish big business for taking advantage (please refer back to #2 for the why).

Them's the facts Jack.

#1: DOL provides a certificate to the company / petitioner.
#2: Petitioner for specific H2A or B. So long as no Petitioner DOL/DHS violations meet a threshold to deny, a 797 is provided to petitioner and non immigrant.
#3: The non immigrant must obtained a H2 visa from U.S. Consulate/Embassy. All non immigrants must enter the U.S. from foreign location for admissibility review by US CBP. Upon approval the non immigrant is granted "X" time frame to be present in the U.S..
No non-immigrant work visa requires the petitioner to house workers. That is the employer's decision.
H2B visas (non agriculture) are capped based on DOL calculated lack of U.S. workers to fill positions. Determined by DOL before petitioning with DHS USCIS.
H2A visas (Agriculture) are not capped.

This is a valuable process as it protects the employee who holds equal DOL rights including injury on the job - workers compensation, receive legal pay equivalent to a U.S. citizen or U.S. immigrant (LPR) for the work at least the highest of, Federal, State, local, or the prevailing wage for work average, the non-immigrant pays taxes.

We can examine Chinese immigration in the late 1800's and draw parallels to the present. Robust economy with migrant workers. Then they got rounded up and sequestered. Economy slipped.
Don't know the answer.

Likely inflationary. Might be shortages.
