Sure is dead in SI

1. Everyone's out hunting.

2. Those of us that are right are never going to change the minds of those that are wrong.:D

I have read quite a few articles about issues that could have been put in here. I even thought about copying and pasting them myself.

But it just is not worth it. I am trying to locate where the SOB dirt bike riders live so I can turn their lazy asses in to the DNR. :BLEEP: :MAD

CE bled off alot of the heat that was SI of old and we're not quite into the mid winter doldrums... Outside of election years January thru March seems to be the season for HT pissing matches.

Don't worry Ithaca, it'll get ugly in here soon enough;)

Uh waiter...yeah I'll have a big plate of hyperbole, with a side of circular logic slathered with invective....oh and don't forget my verifiable, footnoted sources this time

Not enough trouble makers? yes everyone is hunting....Current events is slow too? I could post lots of stuff about illegals in both sections.. ... but i think most people have seen enough... tell me if you want more.... plenty of it pertains to sportmans issues... ...

CJ,

Go for the shotgun effect. If you put enough lead in the air, you're bound to hit someones button. Then SI/CE will be back to normal.

I heard Buzz say once that he doesn't work during hunting season, so he probably doesn't have as much time to play around on the computer/hunttalk. Without his valuable insight, its just not as much fun. :)

I think intelligent posters who try to have informative debates get burned out dealing with the idiots on my "Ignore" list. Who wants to be harrassed by simple minded morons every time they post?

Ever notice how much those assclowns actually contribute here?

Looks like you answered your own question from the start of this post then bud. Its always amazing how a few of you know-it-alls can debate with yourself.

:D :D :D :D

jmcd, I checked to see how many topics you've started in SI. ZERO. You're one of the zeros that never contributes anything! See your reply above.

Here's a little challenge: Let's see you think up a good topic that is informative and interesting and see how many posts you can get in it. I'm betting you can't do it.

Hey Ithica,

There are very few good topics "thought " up and posted in SI. Most topics that get a lot of posts are an article from some biased, earth-muffin publication followed by some bullshit remarks by dinks like you, untill a full-fledged pissing match erupts. Not all, but most. If that's what you consider interesting and informative, you must be pretty dim. When I see an interesting and informative topic come up I'll post it if that 'll make you feel better. Untill then maybe you better put me on ignore.

jmcd, Good idea. You're on "Ignore". Try going back a couple years and read a months worth of topics and you'll see the difference.

Grade school dropout assclowns like you have ruined the place. Want proof you're a dimwit? Try counting your spelling errors. 'Bye.

"Grade school dropout assclowns...ruined SI???...dimwit?"

As jmcd stated, asked and answered.

seems that way I guess harley. But then again, this always was the best place for an argument...........or pissing match. :wank:

I agree with jmcd, good call, Ithica. How about that South Dakota mountain lion hunt?

They started a season Oct. 1 and they got 12 lions already, no dogs. Does anybody study mountain lion populations? We need to get California to hunt them again. It takes a 2/3 vote. I suppose the lions will have to kill a bunch of people to get that vote.

What's new? We might have a the San Antonio Saints here a while, it was in our paper. The SuperDome may be declared unplayable. I say let New Orleans sink. How they going to fix that?

Hangar, That's too bad. I liked Clark as top man for BRC.

"The Blue Ribbon Coalition was founded in 1987 by Clark Collins to promote off-road vehicle use on public lands. The organization now claims to represent several hundred member organizations nationwide and more than half a million individual recreationists.

BRC's motto is "Preserving our natural resources FOR the public instead of FROM the public." Blue Ribbon Coalition is active in the "wise use" movement, and regularly attends networking meetings. BRC is a member of the Alliance for America network, and its newspaper usually carries stories from other wise use group including the Mountain States Legal Foundation, Sahara Club, Eco, American Trails, and the American Policy Center's DeWeese Report. Article titles have included, "Hug a Logger, Not a Tree," and "Kyoto Protocol Could Cause American Economic Havoc." In recent years, BRC has made efforts to reach out to mountain bikers, equestrians, and even hikers, by promoting the idea that none of these things will ultimately be allowed in protected areas. BRC promotes negative images of environmentalists as uncaring, anti-rural, anti-progress and anti-human. (CLEAR fact sheet, http://www.clearproject.org/reports_br.html) In addition to membership fees, funding has historically come from timber, mining, petroleum, and motorized recreation industries. Funders have included the Alaska Forestry Association, American Forest and Paper Association, American Petroleum Institute, Boise Cascade, Battle Mountain Gold, Chevron, Colorado Mining Association, Crown Butte Mines, Exxon, Honda (US), Idaho Mining Association, Louisiana Pacific, Marathon Oil, Polaris, Potlach Corp, Rocky Mountain Oil and Gas, Ski-Doo, Suzuki, and Yamaha. (Blue Ribbon Magazine) "

"The BRC is made up of off-road motorcyclists as well as the timber, oil, and mining industries who want unhindered access to public lands. Their lobbying strategy is twofold:

block new wilderness designations
open up existing wildlife preserves for public and private use
Clark Collins, executive director of BRC, was "honored" as the most successful lobbyist at the 1992 "Wise Use" conference in Reno for his tireless efforts to keep dirt bike trails open, supporting the timber industry, opening the ANWR for oil exploration, weakening the Endangered Species Act, and pushing for cattle grazing rights on federal lands. Way to go, Clark!

"Clark Collins succeeded in making motorized recreationists (dirt bikers, ATV enthusiasts, 4 wheelers, snowmobilers, etc.) an element of the Anti-Conservation coalition. His organization, the anti-environmental Blue Ribbon Coalition, was initially funded by Honda Motor Company in large part to protect its American motorcycle and ATV markets. Collins' efforts were largely responsible for passage of the Trails Act - a rider to the 1991 federal highway-transportation bill which facilitated the creation of off-road trails for motorized vehicles in wilderness areas. Until the current Congress began its all-out attack on environmental protections the Trails Act was the only successful Anti-Conservation initiative at the federal level. "
