Stump the Chump!

Here's a twofer.

What you had
Me

and the other side of the coin

If I could
I would give you my world
Well, all I could come up with is a loose interpretation of those words.

Carly Simon- You're so vain.

After that, I only had one 8-track in my life. Sweet-Desolation Boulevard.

Half a chump. Chimp? :ROFLMAO:

One copy of the lyrics I have on their greatest hits includes Me after the line what you had. This one does not....1/4 chump Dave!

Now there you go again, you say you want your freedom
Well, who am I to keep you down?
It's only right that you should play the way you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat, drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering what you had
And what you lost
Of what you had
And what you lost

Stevie created a passel of chumps...

Couple of eponymous rockers apropos to the season:

Ridin' the storm out, waitin' for the thaw out, on a full moon night in a Rocky mountain winter

Spent the last year, Rocky mountain way, couldn't get much higher
Foreigner and Walsh I believe

I’m positive it Walsh on the 2nd
50/50 on Foreigner on the 1st, I know they had a ride out the storm song but I don’t know the lyrics all that well

Reo Speedwagon ! Aaaggh , that’s it , Hi infidelity , was the big album from my Jr High days , I listened to more foreigner in HS , which is why I went there I think

One of those songs that can boost any day.
THANK YOU !

Someone here ask me to share this and I will do very condensed version, as most here will view it as "sentimental mush"--and they would be right.

When my husband knew his time here on earth was coming to an end, he ask one of our children to help him make a cd, that she was to give to me after he was gone, and she did. Basically, he told me to get on my sailboat and "live" the rest of my life and to play the cd when I was well offshore. Obviously, it had Eagles, Linda, Elvis, Frank, etc--county, rock, jazz, blues, --a cross section.

The two that still bring moisture to my eyes, years later is

I'll be seeing you

and

" and I wanna rock your gypsy soul--Just like way back in the days of old--magnificently we will float into the mystic"

-------------------

p.s. was asked and I liked Dean Martin's rendition, but I also enjoyed Frank Sinatra and Jimmy Durante's rendition of the song. NASA however sent Billie Holidays rendition of the song to their rover on Mars . And she does the song justice for sure, very "smoky " rendition, I just prefer to hear it from a male singer. thanks for asking

Hey, you, get offa my cloud.
I never would have got Dave’s lyric post until u followed it up , I think the core group of everyone on this thread is at least a decade older than me , and has a deeper well of music knowledge to draw from , while I know just enough to keep up
