Springtime Hog Hunt

Still watchin airfare. If it gets before 14 days ahead i will have to decide if i will bite the bullet or not. I just cant spend that amount on a 2-3 day hunt at this time. If it gets into the sub $300 range i will jump on it. it goes up and down every day so i have been watching. the other problem i have is flight times back out on sunday are all very early for the best fares. I either need to hunt thurs-saterday or not go at all since hunting sunday morning is not an option. I will keep you guys posted, i will keep on watching!! this time of year fares can go up and down 100$ in a day so keep your fingers crossed.
We missed that big airfare sale, all tickits needed to be for trave before feb15th. i could have flown for 210$ if we went 2 weeks earlier.

The out of state over the counter liscense is $45 and can be got at Walmart, not but a mile or two from the San Antonio airport. You can buy it over the internet, I think too at the Texas Parks and Wildlife webpage.

I think the end of Feb. is a good full moon time, so the night hunting will be good at that time, if that place does that. It takes landowner permission to be legal for hogs.

Javelina, it would be illegal, the night hunting, but I think you're off the javelina place.

I can't resist this. If you guys see one like this, shoot it.

These will probably be #1 for a year as soon as we enter them, I don't care which record book, SCI, TGR, or ROE. I scored them for all three but the hunter is not a member of SCI, so he won't enter them there this year. They are from the southeast side of San Antonio in Bexar county, believe it or not.

Is that big enough? We got big ones around here.

Well Dan,

My initial plan was to fly in on Thursday night and hopefully get a ride from the airport. I thought that you were going to spend some time with friends in the area. I wouldn't want to infringe on an opportunity for you to spend some time with your friends. Bottom line is, I'd like to save as much vacation time for other hunts during the year. If you are just driving there and back, I'd be happy to tag along, but to give you more time with your friends and whatnot, I'd rather just fly in to San Antonio on Thurs and hunt F/S/S and drive with you on the way back. That is unless you have other plans? Of course, if the offer is still good, I"d like to load my coolers and stuff with you for the drive. You know what a pain it can be checking luggage at any airline! LOL!

It looks like I will not make it. Damn those airlines!! if they exteneded that price cut for 2 more weeks i could do it. Just cant spend that cash on a 2-3 day hunt. Anyway, sorry guys, give me a good report on the action as i still may go in the future and need a good spot.

John hit it right. ROE has 4 levels of entry, as one taxidermist told me, bronze, silver, gold, and holy smokes that's big! Those tusks are a holy smokes one.
