Hey Dan,

I've just been involved in an accident! I've got whiplash like you wouldn't believe, but thankfully I don't have any broken bones. I wish I could say the same for my fishing partner. He drove right into oncoming traffic and got nailed! He goes by Sir Doughnut Man at www.azbasszone.com. Rich, has a broken sternham and broken back bones too! He might also be catching namonia too, so things might not look too good for him. The poor guy only has one lung, so he's in my prayers. Personally, I'm kinda screwed up a little bit in the head from the accident and I hope that I get over this prior to our bow hunt!

Talk about bad luck and bad timing! Hopefully I'll be ok for our bow hunt. I'm really looking forward to this. What a screwed up day!

sorry to hear about that john.i hope everything is ok. if things get messed up for your trip i would be in texas the following weekend and could make the trip.hopefully it wont happen but if you need the recoup time let me know and i am there. if its a possibility let i will throw my stuff in the truck with me.

Damn boy,, What did you do to piss off the Gods of the Hunt? You need to be more careful about what's going on while your buddy is driving.. I hope he comes through this OK.. Pneumonia is tough enough but with a cracked sternum and only one lung to start with, that could be tragic..

I hope you feel better before we get to Texas... I talked with this guy today. He's pretty encouraged about someone finally thinning out his hog population. Guess no one has been there since November. We should have a great time..

John sorry to hear about your accident.
Tell Rich that I wish him the best. I fished with him in a few of the night tournaments that desert dwellers used to have along with Delw and westy and the bunch.
Hope he gets better soon.
Take it easy and recoop b4 going out or you'll not enjoy the hunt as much.
Best of luck.

Well Alan.. Where have you been and why haven't we heard from you? Nice to see your still around.. Take care..

We're back.. Lots of stories.. Some fresh pork.. pictures and stories to follow after a nights sleep..

Here are some pictures of my hog.. John will have to post his own.. I'm sure he will. This place is spectacular. Hogs, deer, turkey, and various other "critters". Lots of red birds and Orioles and some really spectacular hawks and eagles. Saw two huge hogs ( 500 - 700 pound range) but couldn't get a shot. I will be going back and trying again. I want one of those big fellas...

Thanks for sharing danr!

...though that hog is gonna catch lots of hell in SI for riding that quad  ...by the way, was its ass fat?? ;)

Oh my gosh, do I have a new found respect for bow hunters!

What a great time we had! We saw hogs every day!! I'll let Dan tell you about the two 500 pounders we saw the first day. Yeah, I had my bow drawn and they heard "someone" make a noise  ...but the way I was shooting, I probably would have missed anyway . Dan says it's buck fever and he's probably right. You can even ask him. I had my bow dialed in! I brought my block for us all to practice on for honing in our skills. I had a 2" pattern at the most. All in or near the bullseye!

Don't let anyone ever tell you that hogs have poor eyesight! Those buggers saw me a mile away!....well maybe not that far, but as far as spot and stalking, these animals are tough to hunt!

To be completely honest, I actually took 4 shots and only connected with one. The first shot, I aimed with the wrong pin! |oo The second shot was a serious spot and stalk! The owners son and his bro in law took me on a serious hike up and down hills and through a few creeks and one serious up to your @hole creek, but they got me on hogs. It was a total blast! I was crawling on my stomach and got to within shooting distance. I drew back on one knee and ...... yeah, you guessed it! I wasn't thinking and made a level shot through grass! It doesn't take a brain scientist to figure out that I missed the hog! The guys said that they wished they had a video recorder for my stalk, though! I think they really wanted to film me for a bloopers video, but it was a great time anyway! Oh yeah, when I said the water was up to our rears, it got even higher on the way back since it was raining to no end!

I'll make this short and try to post some pics, but what Dan said is right. These folks are top notch! Very hospitable and they will do their darndest to get you on hogs! They are working on a smoking deal for any folks looking to hunt turkey/deer/hog for $1500 for 5 days! I think it's one mature Buck and more than one Doe, one Turkey and all the hogs you want! Bow only, but it sure sounds like a good deal if you save your spare change for a while.

Sorry guys.... I suck! I can't figure out how to post pics! I hate this stuff! I'll figure it out sooner or later :MAD :BLEEP: |oo
