I’ve got no problem with that necessarily. It’s when a guy with no points decides he wants to hunt and can make a phone call to the right people and get hooked up with their pool of point splitters that I start to get a case of red ass. Especially when some of these people with points never accumulate them with the intention of hunting but accumulated them strictly for the purpose of selling them off via a point split scam. Also, I know a guy who wanted out of the points game this year and it was his "use them or lose them year".
This other guy wanted to hunt with his nephew, but they didn't have enough points.
So, the guy and his nephew applied as a group of three and split the regular priced cost of the 1st guys tag and now they are elk hunting (and for cheaper than the special tag might I add).
The guy giving up his points has a tag and never intends to leave his home state. So, this is 100% for sure happening.
Also, I should mention that the guy and his nephew have decided to keep up the guys 6 deer and antelope points to use them next season as well.....
You gotta hand it to the outfitters that had the foresight to start building a pool of people with points for future clients.
