Splitting points in WY

I’d say no because the hunt you could draw with 9.5 split isn’t worth 10k. If I could buy your points and have all 19 I bet someone would pay that much.

Why an insult? If we split your ten points for a general tag that requires 5 and we both draw and you get the $262 back for the points you accumulated that I used it sounds like an even draw. If someone made me an offer to pay over that I’d consider it but no one has even mentioned it.

I can get an outfitted Elk hunt with 11 points. My kid and I could both get the hunt with 19.

Not worth that much to me, I’d consider $1000. If you find someone willing to pay $4k for 5 points you better take that offer.
Nobody's paying that for "extra points" it's so you can cut in line and hunt early. Earlier you said it's not your problem they waited so long for a general tag well it's not their problem you don't have enough.

I take back my comment, anyone with 6+ points wants to split, I'll put you in a huge public spot where you will 100% see raghorns 'erday!!! 🤑

I won't hunt with you though, F that!

@Trencher2 😎

My offer still stands. I ain't paying for your points though. Best I can offer is Okay company and crappy jokes.

There will be elk though, lot's of them!

Because the points are worth $500-1k each.

There is no way I would take less than $500 a point to share with a stranger, no way.

Like I said, several years ago I had a guy offer to buy my NR general deer tag in Utah, share info on the area, and $500 in cash to use my points.

$500 a point seems like a lot, people really willing to pay that much? I know some pretty well off older guys that wouldn’t even take that offer.

I've been legit offered that as well as an outfitter that has offered me a free 2x1 backcountry hunt to use my points to get one of his clients a general tat.

So actually yes, $500 plus per point x 5 is $2500 and about the normal going rate

I’d say you should take that offer. If a guy had 15 points you could really rack up the hunts for free. Food for thought I guess. Maybe guys should sit on points longer to get the full value I guess. Not insulting if you decide to hold your ground. Only insulting if you give in. If you think it’s got that much value, than don’t let anyone tell you different I guess.

I have ten points and knew nothing on splitting points but I have paid a $2000 dollar deposit to one of Wy outfitters for 2025 simply because I know nothing about the units and I'm paying what may be once in a lifetime hunt for me, so just having a tag is not going to do much for me because like I said I know nothing of the unit but if someone splits the points and finds someone with knowledge to hunt with I can understand cheaper than 7200 plus tags and fuel

I think you could ask your outfitter if they have clients waiting to draw that may want to bandwagon on your app and pay you back. Seems to be the theme with what these other guys are saying.
