Say a person picked up their 10th PP in Wyoming before the deadline in 2019. Does this mean when applying for a tag in 2020 you would be able to purchase another and apply with 11 points, or are you going into the application for 2020 with 10?

I know my regulations. Just don’t know non resident drawing process and rules cus I’m, . , ,a resident😁

Do people read the regulations any more? SMH

What a great response and a waste of a post considering two people above you already answered the question. Also considering the changes WY just made for the draw things could have changed there as well.

Thanks to those who actually helped.

Download and read the 2020 Appnarrative, then read it again.

Thanks for posting this, had I found it I wouldn't have needed to ask.

"Any preference points awarded in 2020 will be available for use in the 2021 initial drawings. No person may apply for, or be awarded, more than one (1) preference point per species in the same calendar year. If you were successful in drawing your first choice in the initial draw, you are not eligible to purchase a preference point during the preference point application period."

All those changes you mentioned is precisely why people planning on applying for a permit in Wyoming need to read the regulations.
Believe it or not, sometimes the answers given on hunting websites are not correct. Actually reading the regulations is the best way to get correct answers to your questions.

This I agree with. That's why I'm glad wapitibob posted the link to the updated regulations, and why I quoted it in the post above.

The appnarrative is a pdf, updated every year, to help people apply before the new regulations are adopted and printed. They’re not “regulations” per se. More of a comprehensive help guide. They do however contain a bunch of data as the dept updates them every year in hopes of answering some of the questions they get asked over the year.
The actual regulations are found at the “regulations” link, below the hunting tab on the main page. Those are broken down per chapter, 44 being a good one in addition to any species chapter you might be interested in.
