I’m stuck in the flat part of Arkansas. Weighted pack on the stair master is the only thing resembling a hill within 90 minutes of me. Mix with running, and it’ll have you do.For me the best thing in the gym to prepare for goat/sheep season was running on a stair stepper. It takes the right kind of stair stepper to allow you to actually run on it, but when you do it's a hell of a workout and prepares you for the burn of a constant climb. You can add a backpack and weight to make it interesting. Nothing beats the actual mountain though.
