Public Land arsonists get pardons

I'm not sure what he's done that's bad for public lands. First and foremost the most important thing is the economy and national security. If those things are good the public lands will be just fine.

They might be corporately owned, but they'll be fine.

noharleyyet, I'm not part of the governing branch of hunttalk, so i couldn't say what constitutes expulsion. I only reluctantly got involved to clarify what I believe buzz was saying. I then added the PM suggestion so that I could learn more about the Hammond case and read less about what I believe to be unrelated pro-trump/anti-trump banter.r38

It’s a check and balance, just one of the many.

Outside the small world of HT, that is actually some pretty decent time. You usually won’t go to jail that long for meth or child/domestic abuse (unless there is serious, lasting injury). More than a few have been out of jail faster for killing someone while DUI, too.

I realize it infuriates the HT crowd, but in the context of how we punish criminals in our society, 3 & 4 years plus a heavy amount of cash for starting a fire and poaching some deer is quite substantial.

I agree, they didn't just get off scot-free. I wouldn't have much of a problem with commutation of the sentences. I do have a little heartburn with full pardon.

Also, everyone should remember the Hammonds actually denounced the Malheur occupation. Completely separate issues.

Maybe those responses are best directed through PMs as to not detract from the original posters intent of the thread. I think we've gone beyond that at this point.

As for the hammonds any chance of prosecution for the poaching or shooting as a way to combat the pardon for arson?

Nope, a private message wouldn't serve the purpose. I want others to see that some of us support the president. They post negatively about President Trump, I'm always going to defend him. It's fine to disagree with particular things that he does, a person is never going to agree 100% with everything ANY president does. But the hateful, negative rants trashing his character are ridiculous. If you don't care for our president, fine, but everyone should at least acknowledge that we're much better off than we would be with what our alternative would have been.

Of course, this in reference to a President who:

1) Openly and repeatedly mocked and ridiculed a POW Senator
2) Openly mocked George H Bush's campaign for humility and public service
3) Continually makes false statements
4) Espouses America first, while outsourcing goods through China and hiring immigrant workers for his resorts

Carry on.

You apparently see those things as negatives. I don't. And I don't agree with #3. Try not believing all that you hear on mainstream media. If it's about Trump, it's most likely not true.

I find it odd that there are so many folks who want to comment thier personal believes on this! Maybe it’s just me being a military man, the local community asked for it, it went up the Chain of Command, it was reviewed ethically and legally by many folks, and then the head boss made a decision. We don’t have to like it but it is not our decision to make, it was his, and he made it. It falls with the position’s right to do so and he was elected into the position. End of story, problem is that doesn’t sell add space on the news network. It has nothing to do with a candidate who lost, or a porn star, or how fast some group can shoot 5 deer. We should be spending this energy on something we can still impact change on. This one is deader than disco!

Good post. Pretty much the way I feel. I simply have to trust President Trump to do what he feels is right. I'm sure he is much more knowledgeable about the whole situation than I am. No matter what I know he loves our country and his intentions are good. That can't be said about MANY other politicians.

If you see ANY honor or value in #1, #2, or #4 there is no point in conversing any further. As for #3, you are clearly showing you refuse to even be objective. I don't believe all I hear on the mainstream media, and your assertions regarding this are simply asinine.

Edit: Defending policies, stances, appointments is one thing. Defending vile human behavior is quite another. Attacking and mocking honorable war veterans and public servants is far below any threshold of human decency.

Agree with the bold part! :)

I just wanted to clear up one thing… Disco did not die. It discovered MDMA and it evolved.

I don't understand why people don't expect Liberals to criticize Trump after what conservatives were saying when Obama was in office. Same thing its just directed the other way, what do you think will happen when the next Dem is in office?

Trump is a garbage human being, cheats on his wife and family, lies whenever he speaks. His moral compass is broken at best, his ethics are trash, he is a horrible human to the core

..... after bending over for Russia I can now add treasonous to the list of qualities of the worst president in history.

This is really not even worth a reply, look up TDS, you have it. Want to talk about treason, look at Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. It's sad how many people the mainstream media has brainwashed.

Trump- the BEST president in history.

You don’t have to be a so-called conservative to be a neocon idiot. The false outrage at getting along with a nuclear superpower sure proves that. I’m not talking about Trumps poor performance at a press conference either. I’m talking about the continued hysteria of all things Russian for two years

One of my least favorite things about Hillary was that she was one of the biggest Warhawks in our nation right alongside John McCain.

I really hoped with Trump and Republicans in power the left would return to one of their very few redeeming qualities, and that was one of non interventionism, and dialogue over conflict.
Tens of millions of dollars of campaign donations funneled to their super PACs from Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and Boeing has certainly changed that.

This article puts a good historical context on the motives of the powers to be to constantly beating the war drum, to enrich their shareholders and the politicians of both parties that they own.
Getting along with Russia is a catastrophe. They have made billions for six decades off direct conflict and proxy wars and arms sales around the globe.

Trump’s energy dominance policy is harder on Russia than it is on any nation other than Saudi Arabia. Russia lacks the advances in shale technology we have in the US and has an almost entirely petro dependent economy. The more oil we put on the world market, the worse off they are.

You have to choose. Trump is either for Russia or he’s for America’s Big Oil corporations. He can’t be for both.

Wagner, I thought you were Canadian?
