Prairie Dog questions

[Focus]

1) Is the prairie dog layer on OnX accurate? Or a vague generality? Or somewhere in between? Anyone have first-hand experience looking at your OnX screen, looking at the PD layer, while standing in a PD town?

2) Is there a "best time" to go after PD's? Like in the Spring, is there a period where the grass is low and they are easier to spot as opposed to later in the Spring when the grass is high and they become harder to see?

The area I'm looking at is NE CO, SE WY and Western NE.

May and June are the best, as soon as the babies come out get on it. That’s when it’s the most fun and productive and the grass is short enough you can still see them.
It’s the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

I check my prairie dog layer and then went to some towns and it was spot on. Can't wait till spring/summer.

I've looked at the OnX layers here near the springs but it seems almost all are on private or residential areas. I know of a few towns that aren't on OnX, anyone know how to suggest an update and give coordinates?

OnX and Google earth rely on the counties, cities, Feds and states for the flight photo data. As expensive as this is it does not get updated annually.
