Prickly Pear Land Trust, FWP, Fort Harrison and few other partners worked to put together a nice little piece of ground that's perfect for training the pup, and taking the old dog for an easy walk. Really neat place. We've seen hungarian partridge, sandhill cranes, ducks, geese, songbirds, deer, fox, and lots of voles. The land was slated for development, which would have hurt the Fort's ability to train with live ammo or run the big machines, would have impacted a local state park (the most heavily used state park in Montana - Spring Meadow) and would have chewed up a nice chunk of ground that is much better served as a new park with over 3 miles of trails that are ADA accessible.

Nice work by the Helena Community, U.S. Army and so many more getting this done.

While out laying down some miles for the “Hike to Hunt Challenge “ I walked across a bridge and seen this nice snapper. It had its head underwater going back and forth waiting for a snack to come by. I watched for quite a while and never one time did it come up for air.

Awesome slide! That sure beats the heck outta the laundry baskets we would slide down the stairs with when we were kids.
She also has a drinking fountain in the front hallway. Quite interesting touches to say the least.
