OUTPOST/COP Keating anyone?

Just finished the Jake Tapper book The OUTPOST. I encourage all to read it, very heartbreaking story, really pisses you off when you hear what these guys went through.

Well, I've lived at over 15 different COP's in this country throughout the years I've spent here…..but not Keating. I may have to look that book up.

COP Keating was closed in 2009. It was based in the Kamdesh District in an in-defensible location at the base of 3 mountains. 2 Medals of Honor were given to soldiers just from the last attack on the outpost.

It is a story of great sacrifice,and It is also a good book. It is one book that shows how a counterinsurgent's actions can quickly change an area.

I remember getting the classified report on that goatf*&k in my office the week after it happened. I almost threw up Such an absolute failue in leadership is truly disheartening.
