We are going to need to know what the rifle is. Looks like an 1886 Winchester from here. Very cool find.An original dugout of homesteaders on our ranch dating back to roughly to the late 1880s.The rifle was found just outside the entrance. We were able to clean it up enough to get the serial number and it was sent to the Cody Wyoming Museum and they were able to give us some information on it. I don't have that saved on my computer though.
It is a model 1886 chambered in 38/56.We are going to need to know what the rifle is. Looks like an 1886 Winchester from here. Very cool find.
I believe that's one of the cabins in Ruby Valley, right?Cabin from the 1800's in Nevada
I ran into the landowner the other day and asked him about this cabin. It was moved to this location in the 50s but built in the 20s about a mile away. There was a rostafarian commune and this is where they lived. The landowner said I could go in and this morning I had a chance too. The landowner is a very wealthy older man from Chicago. He said if I want the royal oak cook stove I can have it. I think it’d be fun to have, restore, and use! Here’s one on my neighbors property about a mile from my house. It was built in the 1930s I believe.

I suspect that structure was a powder magazine. This shack is in the Ruby's of NV. The walls are about 2 feet thick so I'm sure whoever lived there was ready for anything winter had in store. I found it during an August archery hunt and it was quite cool inside.
