I think I was right around there last year. No tag for me, it got down to about 30 if I remember right. Good luck however.

Dang IB, we should have applied as a group. Maybe I wouldn't have drawn.
That didn't work for me last year. 0 points, party of 4.......................still drew.
Good luck with 104 people turning in their tags.

They usually have more than that. 2 years ago I had 125 and was mailed a tag in the first round. They woman in charge said it varys year to year but usually it end up over 150 tags (combo that is) get turned back in after the special draws are drawn and guys decide they do not want to hunt unless they drew the special draw. This does screw up the bow season though, as they usually start getting tags back in mid August and that is a short time to make plans for me.
Deer only tags are not turned in very much though.
So if someone draws a tag in Montana...and they don't want it or can't go they can turn it back in so someone else can use it?
Do they get their money back too?
Man...I wish I had put in there a few years back. The very first elk tag I ever applied for...I drew it in Wyoming. Changed jobs before the season opened and they said tough luck. That 500 dollar tag is still on top of the fridge. Its a shame I couldn't turn it back in so someone else would have had a chance. Funds refunded or not.
