IMO, getting the first quote to change will automatically change the second and I feel that is the only viable long term solution. Sure, states might get to kill some wolves through exemptions or for research, but it won't last until WY comes up with a plan that will be approved by USFWS. That's my view from the cheapseats.Wyoming is not going to move on their plan. The court is not going to change their mind.

I don't remember saying I thought it would happen, just that it should. Either way, if it doesn't we will all have to start the SSS option or say bye bye to elk hunting in MT in our lifetime.
We can all blame WY, RMEF, Obama, (insert your own villain here) to make us sleep better at night though.
How many times did I get attacked by a wolf this year, had to protect myself each time!!! I didn't say that, did I?

Even if we all jumped on this, ( which is ignorant to promote) how many wolves would die?
I mean, how many did you have a chance to put the low down on? I was in the hills, in the highest density of wolves in Montana, only to see a couple hauling arse away from me. No time to shoot if I would have.
I now have 5 wolves that are basically living on my F'in property. There are 4 deer carcases on my property today that are trampled by wolf tracks. I'm half considering going to buy 2 or 3 head of cattle for them to kill just so i have a valid reason for shooting the SOB's!
SS....not promoting here, just responding to your comment. Yes they are skiddish but the numbers of wolf deaths would absolutely go up. I mean just look at how many died last year in pretty short order when there was a season for them. I personally could have easily killed 13 this year. EASILY!

Wasn't the RMEF called the RMWF for a while there I've been a little bitter at RMEF for years for sitting on their AZZ when we really needed them to get involved. That being said, i also agree that their efforts in the past on other issues has provided more opportunity for us than any other organization.
I really think your experience was the exception to the rule. Most of the SSS crowd wont' make it where you saw those wolves. I"v been in the hills, 4 days a week, every week sense season ended, and haven't had a chance at killing a wolf. (kind of a dry spell).

From what I read of the MWF, they dont, sounded like very other stupid Sierra club pro-wolf argument out there.
Brudno, you don't get it. Have you read anything other than what the letter from RMEF said?
crit, I"ve been trapping and lion hunting, and work is slow.
Brudno,
If Wyoming would have come up with an acceptable plan, non of this would be taking place...for starters.
Also, Wyoming screwed both MT and ID with their BS Marlboro Man logic regarding the wolf issue. The hunters in Wyoming had nothing to do with WY's hard-line stance on the wolf issue. Landowners and stockgrowers sold hunters down the river...again.
