Leupold BX-4 Rangefinding Binoculars

Montana Wildlife Foundation...WTF?

Wyoming is not going to move on their plan. The court is not going to change their mind.
IMO, getting the first quote to change will automatically change the second and I feel that is the only viable long term solution. Sure, states might get to kill some wolves through exemptions or for research, but it won't last until WY comes up with a plan that will be approved by USFWS. That's my view from the cheapseats.

I don't remember saying I thought it would happen, just that it should. Either way, if it doesn't we will all have to start the SSS option or say bye bye to elk hunting in MT in our lifetime.
We can all blame WY, RMEF, Obama, (insert your own villain here) to make us sleep better at night though. ;)

How many times did I get attacked by a wolf this year, had to protect myself each time!!! I didn't say that, did I? :p

So are you promoting poaching?

Even if we all jumped on this, ( which is ignorant to promote) how many wolves would die?
I mean, how many did you have a chance to put the low down on? I was in the hills, in the highest density of wolves in Montana, only to see a couple hauling arse away from me. No time to shoot if I would have.

SS....not promoting here, just responding to your comment. Yes they are skiddish but the numbers of wolf deaths would absolutely go up. I mean just look at how many died last year in pretty short order when there was a season for them. I personally could have easily killed 13 this year. EASILY!

I now have 5 wolves that are basically living on my F'in property. There are 4 deer carcases on my property today that are trampled by wolf tracks. I'm half considering going to buy 2 or 3 head of cattle for them to kill just so i have a valid reason for shooting the SOB's!

Wasn't the RMEF called the RMWF for a while there:):) I've been a little bitter at RMEF for years for sitting on their AZZ when we really needed them to get involved. That being said, i also agree that their efforts in the past on other issues has provided more opportunity for us than any other organization.

Ok, lets get a "cow fund" no wait, a "sheep fund" (they must be cheaper) together for Crittergitter. At least we could take a few of these sob's out!

I got $50, who's in?!

I really think your experience was the exception to the rule. Most of the SSS crowd wont' make it where you saw those wolves. I"v been in the hills, 4 days a week, every week sense season ended, and haven't had a chance at killing a wolf. (kind of a dry spell).

You work out there or is work slow this time of year;) sure would be nice to be out in the woods 4 days a week:)

Wyoming is the only state that didnt cave to the liberals and has a plan on par with the original agreement. Idaho and Montana, did us all a great injustice by not honoring the original plan. We as sportmen need to stop being so weak, and let the few push us around, we have the money and numbers, but choose spinless politicans and lobbyists to represent us. RMEF finally gets it. From what I read of the MWF, they dont, sounded like every other stupid Sierra club pro-wolf argument out there.

Brudno, you don't get it. Have you read anything other than what the letter from RMEF said?

crit, I"ve been trapping and lion hunting, and work is slow.

I didnt read anything RMEF wrote on MWF. I read what Ben Lamb linked to on there page, and made my own conclusion from there. Hunters need to take as hard a line, as those who look to end our sport do against us. Its winner takes all, there is no room for pleasantries and civility with them.

Brudno,

If Wyoming would have come up with an acceptable plan, non of this would be taking place...for starters.

Also, Wyoming screwed both MT and ID with their BS Marlboro Man logic regarding the wolf issue. The hunters in Wyoming had nothing to do with WY's hard-line stance on the wolf issue. Landowners and stockgrowers sold hunters down the river...again.

Buzz,

Curious of your thoughts.

If Wyoming presents an acceptable plan in the very near future, do you think we will hunt wolves again shortly thereafter?

Absolutely.

The Molloy ruling that allowed the hunt to happen in MT and ID was the proving ground that state management of wolves works and also doesnt threaten the population.

Going to be pretty tough for any group to make a solid case that the states arent capable of correct wolf management and that hunting and trapping will wipe out wolf populations...both in the courts and in the reality of what happened in 2009.

What happend to the original comprimise? 300 wolves? More comprimises? Lets just lets just continue to set the precedent, that the anti can keep coming in to eat our lunch whenever they want. Wyoming plan is sound and fine, them comprimising weakens the encroaching populations in Utah, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Colorado. As well as the existicing populations in the SW and Great Lakes region where I reside. The re-introduction of wolves was when we were sold down the river, we knew the writing on the wall, (great lakes wolves are proof of that) but we were to weak to stand up, and now there walking all over us. They wont stand beside there 300 what makes you beleive they'll stand by the next comprimise that hunters and ranchers will have to take?

The anti's had nothing to do with Wyomings plan not being accepted, it all started with the Wyoming ag controlled legislature classification of predator, and it all went down hill from there.
