Anyone seeing much for rut activity in southeast Montana yet. Not sure to head out that way on the 14th or the 21. I see some colder weather should move in by the end of next week.

I seen some trophy forkies rutting hard. Necks swole ready to fight off a couple spikers I seen out by Rock Creek.
A couple brutes was fighting right below me this morning right at daylight and was for sure fightin for the right to mount the hot doe the one old warrior had with him.

Went out Friday afternoon - saw a couple of groups of does, but no bucks with them. Around 10 min of light left, spotted a 2 pt with a doe... he was not able to leave her any time soon. Hoping it'll be in full swing next Fri.

I would get here sooner than later. Yesterday I was watching a nice buck. Very young but had 4 points. I was hiked in quite a ways. It was a lovely morning, all of a sudden the hunters descended upon him and bam he was dead. If they are on public and visablly rutting they aren’t lasting long.
