For the less informed what is it?Seems like there are several versions of this. Looks like a good way to judge shooting skills. Anyone here ever done it? I'm gonna save milk jugs. mtmuley
There are many variations. Basically it's shooting a milk jug at different distances. Mostly with hunting rifles and gear you would use in the field. Some timed events some not. mtmuleyFor the less informed what is it?
For those of us that are lactose intolerant, the version I know didn't end well. For the less informed what is it?
I have shot steel. Milk jugs positioned at various ranges whether up hill down hill or on level ground at various ranges would be a challenge. Impacts are easy to spot and set up is fast. Just pick them up when done. mtmuleyI haven't used milk jugs in years as I've got too much access to pretty nice ranges with good steel target options, but I'm in favor of any realistic field practice/competition.
Steel is logistically easier for regular competition, but milk jugs do have a few advantages. They're essentially free, they don't really have fire danger associated with them, and you can just set them on the landscape without needing hanging systems.
That's the video that got me thinking of this. mtmuleyI know nobody likes this guy but this was an interesting exercise.
This sounds like the qualifying for Southern Colorado deprevation summer elk culling. There are many variations. Basically it's shooting a milk jug at different distances. Mostly with hunting rifles and gear you would use in the field. Some timed events some not. mtmuley
The first video with Mike the marine was brutal. After scoping himself in the warm up he couldn’t get his head off that stock fast enough.I know nobody likes this guy but this was an interesting exercise.
One of the few videos I stumbled across recently, As soon as I heard what cartridge he brought I had a good idea how it was gonna go. As expected. Lol.The first video with Mike the marine was brutal. After scoping himself in the warm up he couldn’t get his head off that stock fast enough.
A cold bore shot at distance would be telling. Set jugs and shoot a cold bore shot at distances until you miss. One a day even. mtmuley
