Matt Rinella knocking it outta the park

I don't follow any influencers, the whole thing seems sleazy. Only post I've ever seen of Cam is when his kid was beating him with a stick, never wanted to see another post from that shit show. That being said, and I am purely asking this out of ignorance, what proof is out there that he pays for private land and/or farm raised elk? Seriously, don't give 2 shits about the guy, just curious about the back story

It's funny people spend time watching this or that content all the while it's why they are losing access and opportunities. Meanwhile rooting for there favorite hunting celebrity all the while muttering I wish I could be there doing that right now. Just human nature I guess though, look at politics.

While he’s not perfect, Matt Rinnella’s message is what makes the most sense to me nowadays.
I liked all the outdoor media including Cam, back in the day. Loved this site 20yrs ago when the goofball from Idaho ran it. But, as time went on, it became obvious to me the main goal of those behind the media………$$$$$
Unfortunately, chasing the $$$$ is more important than the animals, quality of experience, crowding our spots, or hell, even hunting. Why else would they do it? To be an ambassador for hunting? Bullshit… Matt is doing that without shitting all over everyone else’s areas and the obnoxious self promotion.
I’ve lost count of the times on this site I’ve read the negative posts about people monetizing public land/wildlife, yet the influencers get a pass. Reality is that they are WAY more of a threat to my public land hunting and the quality of it than wolves, grazing, oil drilling, etc.
I’ve had spots that were covered by Newberg AND Western Hunger in a couple of their shows. Landscapes, signage, etc all shown so that anybody can figure them out…… all WAY more overrun in the seasons to follow. While me and mine were dealing with the mobs, the hosts of these shows had moved on to a 10 day hunt in another area to repeat the process.
Find another trailhead??????F@ck you! At this pace, they’ll all be overrun soon.
I hope for all our sake, that Matt is successful in his mission.

He hunted for decades on public land, now has enough money to hunt private or buy lo tags. I'd do the same thing.

It bites the celebs in the arse too. Remember the second elk hunt Randy had in that NM burn area? There was a pumpkin on every Ridgeline

Yep brocksw, I am aware- never said he didn’t hunt private land and/or farms. Just pointing out they are not necessarily the same thing and a landowner tag.

Very possible to hunt diy public with a landowner tag… obviously he does not choose that route.

Furthest thing from a cam fanboy, I really don’t spend much time thinking about him in any capacity to be honest. Anyway, carry on.

I think I would unguided, but it would have to be a pretty big hunk of land/ same challenge as public minus worrying about somebody beating you to your spot. Now granted, dealing with other hunters is part of the challenge, but I could live without it

A lot more to it than a youtube video.

Ask and you shall receive
Google Cam Hanes and San Carlos Apache Reservation elk hunt. He’s hunted every year since 2018?

His first 3 bulls from there

From 2023, what his 6th year in a row doing this fully guided 30k+ hunt?

Back when public land wasn’t pressured like it is now?

I don’t think many people here have an issue with him deciding to go completely guided on private ranches. I know I don’t. If thats what he wants to do, he can knock himself out. But the irony of him making money off the content that he produces off those hunts is hilarious. The fact that he made that choice and then calls the rest of us socialists… how out of touch can he be?
