At 4:11pm on Tuesday the 13th, *trapper* (known by close friends) lost his fight with life after a heart attack early the morning of the 12th. Visited with dad on Sunday and helped him do a few things and had a couple of beers with him and talked about scouting for our October hunts. Had he been 30 years younger they could have sent him to the cardiac cath lab and had him fixed in 45 minutes or so, according to his doctors. Unfortunately his 92 year-old plumbing was like rusty old pipes so we followed his directives with DNR. Our family is suffering from a sadness that some of your may have already experienced in your life.
It won't be the same hunting without him and his wisdom this fall, but I am sure his bottle of scotch WILL NOT go untouched.
