Let's see those tiny fish!!!

Buddy and I doubled on crappie. Hit the same time and we had them up at the same time. Ice fishing in MN on April 21, 2018.

Edit: I remember them both being crappie but looking at the picture again, maybe the smaller one isn’t. Memory must be going.

Pretty sure it was the first day fishing that I had multiple crappie over 12”. All went back for another day. It was funny as we thought the ice was pretty good and the next day it turned black and started moving around. Maybe it wasn’t as good as we had thought….

They are a ton of fun through the ice!

All of these are native fish sought out for their relative rarity in marginal habitats, and that’s what made them special catches. Kinda funny how I’ve caught each of these outside their native range and pitched them back or bonked them without much thought or fanfare. But in the right context they are all pretty interesting catches.
