Just One

It wasn’t too long ago that I only had 1 centerfire rifle, 1 rimfire rifle, and 1 shotgun. It was that way about 15 years and I never wanted anything else. I added a handgun when I turned 21 and then basically had the 4 guns for another 6-7 years before I decided I needed new stuff for some unknown reason.

Those were:
Centerfire rifle: Savage Model 111 in 300 Win Mag
Rimfire rifle: Ruger 10/22 in 22lr
Shotgun: Rem 870 in 12 Gauge 3 1/2”
Handgun: Kimber 1911 in 45acp

Now I guess it would be:
Centerfire rifle: Christensen Arms Ridgeline in 28 Nosler
Rimfire rifle: the same Ruger 10/22 in 22lr
Shotgun: Beretta A400 Xtreme in 12 gauge 3 1/2”
Handgun: Ruger LCP in 380acp (because it’s tiny enough that I carry it everywhere I go)

Tough question!
I'd keep my S&W Model 19 6" barrel .357 I'd keep my Sabbati 12 ga. over under. Coming to only one rifle? I don't know but if it's only 1 then I would have one built probably in .308 All my FAVORITE rifles are in .223 300 BO 65. CM .308 .300 win mag and .300 webby. I couldn't choose between any of them so would have to have on built with the best features combined from all of them.

Based on functionality, not sentimental value:

Rifle: Weatherby Vanguard in 7mmRM
Shotgun: Beretta A300 Xtrema 12ga
Pistol: Kimber 1911 Ultra Carry in 45ACP

I don't like this but...

Rem 700 ss bdl 7mag. Really though to chose just one, but if I only have one rifle this would be it for me. This gun is stupid accurate and I'd feel confident killing anything in NA with it. I'm not a fan of the weight, and would rather pack one of my mountain rifles in 280rem, but I'd rather have a little more oomph.

Pistol 329 PD air light 44 mag. Shoots well and easy to pack. I'm only worried about 4 legged critters but it would be fine for 2. I have a 200gr load that's fun to shoot, and 270s for pucker situations

Shotgun would be the cheapest ass Mossberg 835 3.5" ulti-mag. It's cheap AF but has never let me down in 25 years in 100s upon 100s of rounds and dead birds of all varieties. The 22" barrel is easy to pack too. Close second would be 11-48 rem in 28GA.

Rifle: Remington 700 LSS 7mm Rem. mag

Shotgun: Remington 870 Wingmaster 20 ga...was my Dad's gun

Handgun: Dan Wesson 744VH

Rimfire: Ruger 10/22

Rifle: my good ol trusty Marlin 336 in 30-30

Shotgun: Beretta 686 black onyx pro-sporting 12 GA.

Don't own a handgun anymore, but at one time it would have been a 1911 I used to own.

The safe would only cost a grand, but the divorce would cost 6 figures. ;)

I bought a safe for $1K. I should have spent more.

Also, I can't believe you've been married long enough to raise a family, yet you haven't figured out the art of negotiation with your spouse. The new safe isn't just for your guns, it's for [/Oprah voice] "THIS NEW DIAMOND RING I JUST GOT YOU!!!!!"

Real easy for me:

Rifle: 7-08 on a Remington 700 action...good for all big-game in NA.
Shotgun: 870 wingmaster 12 gauge 3".
Pistol: Ruger single six with 22LR and 22Mag cylinders...only practical and useful pistol worth owning is a .22. All the rest are various forms of boat anchors...best case.
Rimfire: Model 62 Winchester pump, no question and no debate, and wish I owned one.

Last edited:
Rifle: Ruger MKII .300WM, McMillan Stock, Viper HST. Hard to not choose my 338/06 but I've had the 300 for a long time.
Pistol: Browning Buckmark .22. Cause life without a 22 is not really living.
Shotgun: CZ Bobwhite 12ga side by side. I'm not much of a shotgun guy so this is the nicest one I have.

I was avoiding this thread but, eh, whatever.

Rifle: Tikka T3 30-06 SS Grey Laminate
Handgun: Glock of any flavor
Rimfire: Ruger American Rimfire .22lr, threaded w/Silencerco Sparrow
Shotgun: Beretta ES100 Pintail, 12ga

Also known as my wife's rifle, my duty handgun(s), my only threaded rimfire, and my longest tenured shotgun.

Pistol; don't have one or need one.
Shotgun:. My Mossberg 500 I bought when I turned 18
Rifle: My Model 110 in 270 that kills everything I shoot it at..
Rimfire: My CZ 457. Exceptionally accurate .

I have,
my Rem 700 30-06...35+years
870 express 12 ga,30+, still looking for a Mossburg 500 short for same reasons as Cush, only an older affliction.
A Taurus 9mm ,which I could go back to Glock from or a Sigg,in 9mm.

I'm sacreligious to HT. I do not collect guns. I use quality tools & know how to use them, the few I have. My 94' 30-30 is my truck gun.

Handgun: Glock 19. Only one I have, so an easy choice.
Rifle: 30-06. Not my only one, but the only one that can do everything.
Shotgun: 12 gauge 870 Wingmaster. 13th birthday present from my dad so there's no way I'm ever letting that one go.

Handgun: S&W 65 self defense and small game to deer.
Shotgun: 870 same as above.
Rifle : 700 ADL in 308. Everything in NA.
Rimfire: Tikka T1X or CZ457.

I'd keep the below.
-Rifle: .270 Win Tikka
-Shotgun - 12 Ga. 870 Wingmaster
-Pistol - .357 Mag revolver. Mine is a Taurus, but I'd buy a S&W

Boring stuff....but works
