Unless he is much further than it looks, he shot over over him by by a mile. Probably stared at the antlers.
It looks 80yd distance and about a yard high! I think this archery Fudd poorly estimated the distance beyond his pin and disregarded angle because he didn’t practice for such a shot.

*edit- quick googlefu for Brian Barney turns up links to mntntough and rockslie. We shouldn’t be so judgmental to the simple because they don’t know what they do.

I can tell you Brian practices more than both. He is a great archer and sometimes the deer win. From the angle on the video it is hard to tell what happened but the alert deer definitely heard the arrow coming and got out of dodge.

We all lie about why we missed. Blame the equipment, the weather, Canada, the shooter’s trick knee or whatever. Brian here took that to the next dimension by posting a video, replaying same in slow motion and then claiming the deer jumped the string? 1737566244226.gif

Haha maybe the guy practices a lot but that arrow was feet over the top of the deer’s head and even more above the kill zone. Arrow would have killed it if it was on target. Either he was looking at the wrong pin or didn’t adjust his sight correctly but that wasn’t even close.

exactly. That deer ran off after a whiff for the record books. It did not jump the string.
