Awsome DAN.. were are the Senioritas ? :D :D

LMAO NUT... Now that you say that it looks just like a puzzle I put together :D

Dan......Great pictures......I lived in Paterswolde for over a year. Is that the bell tower of the Oudekerk in one of the pictures, if it is you probably had some interesting strolls along the herrenstrasses for some real interesting sight seeing. Any 100 guilder tales to tell? Anyway, I know you had a great time. They had to drag me back to the States kicking and sceaming when my tour was over. ;)

Danr55,

The Coca Cola poster is an original from 1952 during the occupation of Holland by the American forces. I asked the shop keeper if he knew how valuable it was to a collector. He showed me the numbers tatoo'd on his arm and told me it was worth more than money to him. He had been inturred at Burgess Belzin at the age of 4. He was kept hidden for 6 years until the camp was liberated by the American Army.

The last picture is an embroidery that was made at Burgess Belzin. Each of the little symbols on the tapestry is representitive of someone who died while in captivity. This was how the women kept track of who "disappeared" and how they made sure that those who "Left" would not be forgotten. This is from a Museum in Overloon. Those who saw the movie "A Bridge Too Far" will remember that Overloon was the site of the jump by the US 101st Airborne, before they were defeated and pushed back.

Dan,
Did you go on the Heineken brewery tour? That is a terrific tour, at least I think it was. Anyway when I was stationed in Germany and you went to Holland you were tested for drug use when you returned.

I think Hashish was the national replacement for tobacco. Great country though.
