Well Gummer, It looks like you've managed to make most of the posters on here angry again. You take words spoken in anger or in the heat of the moment by someone who is passionate about an idea, and you interpret them literally. That's an often seen trick that lawyers use to trap or intimidate witnesses into saying something that they don't really mean. Now that is not to say the Gilcrist doesn't think that Rice is a commie, but I believe that taken in a different context and being asked under different circumstances, Gilcrist, like every other sentient person would realize that a commie has no place in the President's cabinet. So I believe it's safe to presume that Rice is not a commie.

Now Gilcrist, having questions shoved at him the way reporters frequently do, probably reacted. Give the guy a break. He's fighting an uphill battle against a population who largely, like present company, believe that this entire problem will go away. A population who largely, like present company, doesn't have to live with it every day. A population who largley, like present company, takes a dim view of anyone taking action when it's easier and less risky to sit back and piss and moan that no one is taking action. Leave it to the lawyers and the judges and it just gets worse. Leave it to the lawmakers and if there's nothing in it for them, they won't do anything. Perhaps those who don't do anything feel a tinge of guilt about all the pissing and moaning they do and all the things that they could do, but don't. I don't know. In any event, I suggest that you keep on railing against the tide, because you are fun to read.

I think Gilchrist actually used the term "Communist" on purpose, as he knows the un-educated White Trash is still stuck in the '70s and would rally against the threat of communism. I think it is just him taking advantage of the un-educated White Trash like Az Hunters Who Can't Think......
