No I don't think it does either, If you're truly disabled then yes let's create opportunities. Hell make a separate disabled season for those that truly are to up the odds of a good hunt. Better weather, less hunting pressure. Archery season was designed as a primitive hunt for those to that were ok with more of a challenge just like muzzleloader which has spiraled into something else. Not for everyone to get to hunt the rut or make sure they don't miss they're 105 day season etc etc.
The same way something like 70% of Olympic athletes are asthmatic. Because it’s an easy way to game the system as long as the doctor will sign the note.
How about for disabled veterans?
Depends on the veteran. I work with one that will dumbbell press 90# in the gym then say it hurts his shoulder to practice with a bow.

I’ve really tried to stay out of this thread but it comes down to a bunch of guys hitting the lazy button. A guy I went to highschool with shoots a left handed bow now due to a utv accident. Says he will quit before he puts on a draw lock let alone a xbow. All these guys act like they need 80# limbs and a slider sight. All this new technology a 50# bow is lethal enough for an elk. I say that as a guy that killed his first bull with a bow at the age of 13 with a 52 pound bow.
Might be something to do with the fact crossbows are everywhere now in the hunting world not too long ago, it was very uncommon. That's my best guess.But why just the last three years? It’s not like people have only recently started to become lazy/tried to game the system.

I remember as a kid there was a guy who was on a knight &hale hunting video. Who only had one arm. He bowhunted drawing the bow with his teeth...that's a bowhunter.

I think the ability to lock the draw is more important, not the horizontal v. vertical axis. Add to that the ability to crank to a higher draw weight resulting in increasing speed, flattening trajectory and giving higher accuracy across distances. Just more efficient.
