I feel bad for you....there are days when we are closer to -70 than 70!It kind of does. Low 70s is BS deer hunting weather.
Snowshoeing can be a ton of fun! Two winters ago, the wife and I hiked back to Roughlock Falls in Spearfish canyon in the Black Hills! The only problem is you dont come back with fresh fillets!
Well at least that means less snowblowing and/or shoveling!Nice fish.
I was looking forward to a long and productive ice-fishing season, but the weather gods have conspired against me. Here in central NY, the ponds and lakes remain open or with ice too sketchy for my to take chances on and also, there's no snow and the ski slopes are pretty crap for what they're charging.
The 8 hours of daylight sucks azz. Other than that, it's fine.JLS, I'm taking that as a no.....
It does .. it also means I've started thinking about the garden much earlier than I usually do!Well at least that means less snowblowing and/or shoveling!
That could be a good thing! Spring bear and turkey are coming up fast!It does .. it also means I've started thinking about the garden much earlier than I usually do!
As my favorites to target goes:Love seeing some fat perch!
Tip ups? Those are monsters! Makes you think twice about putting your feet or fingers in the water for very long.A couple incidental catches can cheer up a winter.

Come over to SD, People love hitting up Bitter for your list! (can't say I'm one of them tho, never could catch crap on the ice...)As my favorites to target goes:
1. Walleyes
2. Crappies
3. Perch
We just don't have much for opportunities around here. I could try the river's backwaters. There is just something about moving water under the ice that deters me! My buddy and I hammered the perch last winter! We will be getting back out there!
My buddy lives in Watertown and we head to Ortonville most the time but I will have to suggest that. Thanks!Come over to SD, People love hitting up Bitter for your list! (can't say I'm one of them tho, never could catch crap on the ice...)
