Deadheads - Let's see 'em

Found this one a couple days ago. Looks like he was shot 1st gun season. Was in plain sight, so must have not been big enough.

We had him on camera all summer, then he disappeared. I found him the other morning within 100 yards of my stand. Disappointing for sure. None of us shot at him and he’d been dead a long time.

This is a deadhead that a customer brought into my shop. He found it out duck hunting.

For an update on the deadhead, here's the skull (check out the forked 2nd tine on the left) after simmering, picking, and blowing off the hide and dried stuff. It was interesting to see how many insect egg cases came out with the first couple of soaks & I appreciate the bugs efforts in getting it 95% picked over! Next up is a little bleach and then mounting.

Skip the bleach and soak in warm water with lots of dawn dish soap. That will degrease it. Bleach won’t. You can bleach after if you want. My buddy bleaches them in the sun for a week instead of bleach and they come out nice!

CO ‘16. Found a broken arrow tipped with a Rage in some thick timber. 30 yards later found the (most likely) associated dead bull. When I picked the arrow up, the blades literally fell off, and you can see the head was coming out of the insert. Who knows what happened, but makes you wonder if the performance was related to the bull not being recovered. Unfortunate to see a bull like that not get recovered, that is a very nice bull for the area (OTC, crazy pressure).

Correct - I misspoke and meant to imply that the bleach was once everything was cleaned up and ready for final whitening.

Someone adamantly told me that the regs have changed and now you can keep a Montana ram if found dead and reported.
I didnt believe this info...but now I'm checking with the experts.
Too bad I found one about 10-12 years and gave F& G the coordinates.

Found this guy last year about 50 yards off the road. If someone shot him from the road should have at least got the rack.
