Did one of them high powered lawyers catch that horse stepping across a corner pin?
To my knowledge, one has never been written. Can anyone verify if tickets get written in Montana for corner crossing? Not just hearsay, first hand knowledge.

Park County Court Cases Testing Boundaries Of Public Access, Private Property Rights
March 1 kicks off the new license year for Montana hunters, many of whom will rely on public land to punch their tags. Some of them say large,…www.google.com
You should give the new OnX video a look. I think it is called Landlocked and Mr. Newberg gives a solid explanation of corner crossing. It is a legal gray area, but I wouldn't do it.
Does anyone know if Cherry was cited for criminal trespass on the corner crossing? or was it civil trespass? Thanks for finding this.
In this case the actual corner cross was thrown out. Crossing a "gap" is an entirely different issue that I would call trespass.
Well Austin Knudsen is inept... so you've got that going for you.Is this the administration that anyone really wants to test on corner crossing....?
Inept, but ideologically determined to expend whatever political and financial resources to prevail ... and with the full power of the Gov GG top Montana office behind him.Well Austin Knudsen is inept... so you've got that going for you.
After reading this case breakdown it seems this isn't a true corner and that it was an 80ft section that didn't connect to the public portion. So a conviction was surely warranted IMO.I believe cherry was convicted of criminal trespass and he is now being sued civilly.
State v. Cherry
The Supreme Court affirmed the judgment of the district court affirming a justice court verdict finding Appellant guilty of failure to obtain landowner permission for hunting, holding the district court correctly affirmed Appellant's conviction.law.justia.com
Agreed and you are correct. There are two different instances here. One was dismissed and one resulted in a conviction. Very different circumstances and the two should not be confused. After reading this case breakdown it seems this isn't a true corner and that it was an 80ft section that didn't connect to the public portion. So a conviction was surely warranted IMO.
