camp pics

hey guys ,weekends here, still working on my garage, hopefully i will be able to start soon,i had to make a pad,for my cement, tomorow i will run some pipes to the house underground for electricity,i may work on my trusses also.any turkeys there trent and dave?so the bugs are getting bad are theybruce?seems like you got a shooting club of your own.see you guys

Good to see you around ben , the flie you can keep bruce.I was there last week and the black flies was realy bad.Well dave is off and heading for home, He left at 6:15am this morning and will be there soon. Dave if you come in here first let me know either way you are back. All in all we did good even thought a shot was not fired we seen a few turkeys.Well time for me to get out and do something productive, later.

Another day

Well I decided to go out this morning so I got every thing ready. Was woken up 3:20am by people out side and figure I get up a few minutes sooner at that point. After I do the morning prep I finally got there and settle in around 4:30am. I was there for about a hour and half and I decided to give up and head home and call it quits for turkey season. By the way I was in the blind that was close to the field and I bought that blind at wal-mart and place it inside the one that was there dave. So I got most of my stuff in tow and was coming off the hill passing the blind we was in and as I hit the fridge that was up there I hear a gobble coming straight in front of me to the left corner. So I lay my stuff down and was not in press at that point,I reach in and pull out the call and gave it a couple calls and they gobble back and sound like they was on the hill. I left every thing there (Excpet the decoy and gun) And headed back to the blind on the hill. Set one of the decoy's up and try another call befor heading for the blind and sure enought I got a answer back.I got alittle excited at that point hump And got into the blind. I tell you I had them (Two toms) on a string and reeled them off that hill and just to my left about 30 yards if that. They was gobbling all the way. I just wait for one to show its head and then I have a chance. Something went wrong cause seen to stop coming. I try the call and nothing so I got up and they was no where to be seen. Once again they seen me move or something. So I had enought at that point so I got up look around and left. walk all the way out and down the hill to my truck and off I went.Right where the wood is cut where I said there was turkey in the back field all the time there by the road :BLEEP: Was two toms and they was ready to cross the road as I went by. I turn around and head back and they stop up |oo . They was the same two and they was hugh and I was inpress that I fool such two old and smart boys temporeary. They got across the road after they flew over cause I kept keeping them from walking across and in hopes that they go back into the woods on that side. Now I don't know what to do if I should even go back out tomorrow. If I do will they fall for it again, I just wish you was there to feel that rush dave, you too would be complete as well. More complete if we got one as well but just as happy having them gobbling. I just wish I was up in my climber when that made there last gobble cause at that point I would be able to watch there movement and there reactions knowing if they was getting neverious. I would of seen if they seen the decoy and still was heading for it I just stop calling all together. Any ways if I go out I'm going to get my climber and get set up high.Time will tell , have a good one guys. Time for me to get something to fill thatv void in my tummy , later.

The weekend was a lot of work but fun. I went with my son and his Timber Wolf pack from the church to a place called Fundy National Park here in New Brunswick for a sleep....... Well a go to bed night but not always sleep over. Hope that made sense.
On Saturday we traveled to a spot that we went into some under ground caves that were realy cool.... Literly cool. It was so cold underground that there was ice still in there and I am not sure that it is not permafrost. pretty neet though and the kids loved it. We went on to the park and set up camp, played, walked the beachs of the bay of Fundy were they regularly get 10 meter tides (lets see that would be 30 plus foot tides). We canoed and ate and then ate some more tried to sleep a bit and all in all had a good time.

Sunday Evening Eastern, My son and Myself did a little shooting but the bugs were to bad for my son so he balled on us after shooting only once. Oh well at least he shot. Eastern was hot and found a pin for his bow to set up a 40 yrd pin. He was doing realy well and putting them right in there at the end of the evening. Can not wait for this weekend to get here so we can go to our first ever 3D shoot. :D

Talk to you later.

I think dave is still recooperating from the bus trip bruce. He met a new friend at the station that never shuts up. even goes on talking to him self *LOL*. I'm here relaxing not doing to much of any thing. Going to turn another page tomorrow as I got another year in from birth *Laff*. Oh by the way dave still show me up on crib. But ask him who is the better shooter at the bass-pro game. We both went in not having play the game ever. Well enought said , thought that let you know I was around and kicking, later.

We were at it again tonight and I remembered the camera

The first two are of my daughter getting some instruction from a fellow hunter.
The next one is her group which is very good considering when she started last evening she could not hit the target at all. I was very proud of her. I almost forgot to mention the best part for her.......... Notice the pink nocks.

The next is my hunting buddy going for the long shot up to 40 yrds

After that is me going 40

This is what happens when you catch a limb going for 40.

Oh well just another arrow for the kids I guess and the last shot is just of my form after only one year of shooting. Notice the hand on the bow and no white nuckles from hanging on for dear life.

Nice pics bruce, Funny thing there does not seen to be any flys circling around. I know a couple weeks ago there was a few million and they was just at the door waiting for me to walk out. Another thing I wanted to do is price the arrows there. Here a dozen (Pending on size) would run any where from $30 to $65. People say ( No it all *LOL* ) I shoot to small of a arrow for the bow I got. But I say I had no problems taking deer down so i'm sticking with a sure thing. Keep switching arrows then you got to keep raising lowering the sights and retuning the bow. Well I got plans to do this weekend but the rain was not inclued in those plans GRRRR , So out of the two days I hope to get one nice morning/afternoon. Keep the pics coming in and speaking of pic my cam got only a few on it. The deer are using the lower trail and i'm not going to move the cam there. I found another tree dave just about 15 yards where the maple one is and it covers all trails on that little slope. one of my plans is to go and clip a few branches for shooting lanes. Well enought said, later guys and I hope weather there is better then it is here.

Well a friend, my son, and myself went on our first ever 3D shoot. It was a misserable day with a steady rain all day but we still had a fun time even tho I got my butt wipped by my son.
Man was he hot today. As some of you know he just reacently got his first bow and has been shooting for not much more than a month and he beet out 3 other kids in his class for top spot on the podium with a score of 237 out of a possible 400.
Here he is with his plaque and a close up of the plaque.

I was in a tougher class called the open class and my shooting was not great today. I had a very hard time with the distance judging but man it was still a lot of fun and I only tore the fletches off of one arrow all day. OK OK I only shot a 215 out of a possible 400 again.

Great day overall and we are definatly going again. It also made my daughter jelous and she wants to go next time.

Way to go on the 3d shooting , I bet you never go out with out your son wanting t go.You must of got the rain that has been fallen the past two days we had.Well I'm beet and it is only 7pm here. Have a good evening bruce and I sent you a private massage here as well.Dave you catching up on work and how is the building going ben ?

I think Ben boarded himself in side the garage and now can not get out. Ben are you going to make it up to the fishing trip? Dave what should we bring besides fishing gear bow if you want to and sleeping bag?

Hi guys, sorry about being tardy. Since coming back from Trent's, I was a little bogged down with work. Got a few stories about coming back on the bus, actually it wasn't bad. I'll tell ya on our fishing weekend. For the weekend you will need fishing equipment, clothes, sleeping bags, snacks, life jacket, and bow (tarket as well??). I will take care of main grub. You guys like gruel?? Ha, ha. No, I will have an assortment of stuff, and thanks to Trent, a supply of deer meat. All I need to know is who is coming and at what time can you meet me at my home in Fredericton Junction (I'll give directions) on Friday the 16th. Hope to see you guys, the fishing could be spot on, due to the high water happening right now.
Glad to see you and your son did so well at shoot, Still. Looks like your son is a 'Robin Hood' in the making.

Sounds good Dave and I can through in a couple of bag targets for shooting at if we have time. I am looking forward to this and my plans are to go to the camp on Friday and possibly come out Saturday evening or early Sunday. I will know more as the time gets a little closer.

morning guys , just save me a feed for the fall dave and I'd be happy. Here it is raining raining raining. Not sure what to do for the whole day but I need at least get out and pick up the film and bring in my cam (Maybe). I hear alot of guys local saying they seen some bucks with nice growth already. So I'm debating on what to do.Wife just went to work.I think I will get ready and go out to the cam and stop in and do some early gun pricing ;) . come across a deal then I need to jump on it with out the wife knowing and jumping on me in not a good way either. I think you are right bruce , ben must of boarded himself in the garage or the newly weds are fighting and she put him in the dog house  Oh I got a raise this past pay and the wife (Of course) has it spent (God love her). Well enought babbling on , have a good one everyone and let me know what the weather doing there hump later.

Still, Yes, this is it, Friday's the day. Just let me know when you can be at my home in F'ton Jct. I live at 103 Wilsey Road, F'ton Junction--ph 368-2568.
F'ton Jct is basically a one main road village. There is an Irving Station on this main street ( Route 101 or also called Sunbury Drive). I live and work apprx. 50 yds from Irving Station on Wilsey road which runs perpendicular to the main street. You can leave your vehicle at my house ( which is plenty safe) or if you have a truck/SUV you can follow me to the camp. Fishing should be spot on, and with water high we will be able to get in closer to the shores to fish beds. Dont forget, you need fishing license, rods and tackle, life jacket if you have one, Sun glasses are good to have, snacks and what ever you wish to drink, sleeping bag and clothes. I will be taking some main grub, ie. eggs, bacon, bread, coffee, water, deer roasts, steaks, burger, etc.
Only thing I will cost share is $10 a person per nite.
I think that if you haven't caught alot of bass before than you definetly will have fun catching some this weekend.
Oh yes, pack your bow as well, I will get my son to bring his as well.
Big Ben, haven't heard from you lately, hopefully you can take a break and come for a fish. Hopefully weather will allow us to have a bonfire and sit around telling some stories.
Keep me updated on your arrival times guys.
